No reason you should on my first day It makes this a premium thread, though, all three of us current posters secures "lots of yellow" for those browsing

So true, but normally I do notice when people upgrade and give them a welcome! So consider yourself belatedly welcomed

I love the atmosphere here myself I guess we're in for a not-so-busy period now as we await the next country to celebrate, but I hope we'll manage to keep the thread running. As I didn't manage yesterday I'm Macau now for a while, before I go back to Norway.

I'm sure we can always think of something to keep the thread running. I would love to learn more about Norway so perhaps you could tell me about your country?

Re: THE Country Celebration Thread
Norway would be a little early, our national day is May 17th. And I wouldn't know what to say about it....too much to say everything, not really sure what is interesting....but if you have specific questions I'd be glad to answer them.

Re: THE Country Celebration Thread
Is Norway a country where you have a lot of darkness, but other times a lot of light? If not, what country am I'm thinking of?

Re: THE Country Celebration Thread
You're thinking Northern Norway, when the sun doesn't rise between November and January.
BTW Litotes, what city in Norway are you from?

You are correct. The Northernmost part of Norway does not have daylight at all these days. Up to two and a half months of no sun. Which also means it has midnight sun in summer. I do not live as far North as that, but there's only about five to six hours of daylight now here.
It would be really cold here in Norway if it wasn't for the Gulf stream, an ocean current originating in the Gulf of Mexico. Brings warm water to our shores.

Re: THE Country Celebration Thread
Northern Norway is among the destinations I have in mind to visit during my lifetime. Hope there will come such a time.
