Nole's out, but has a tough match right away vs. Chardy.

But if he didn't lose to... Melzer and... Nishikori of all people, he would have had 2 more 500 titles and been in the top-10 a long time ago, and probably qualify for the London finals.

Re: Milos Raonic
He will kick off the new season in Brisbane, instead of defending his Chennai title.

Re: Milos Raonic
Milos's official 2013 schedule is at http://www.milosraonicofficial.com/events/default/view/. Looks like only 250/500s he is committing to are Brisbane, San Jose, and Memphis. Doesn't even have Barcelona which is more-or-less a "home" tourney for him. Seems odd. I realize he doesn't want to commit to anything before he has to but still thought he'd put Barca on there.
Also note he has London finals on the list. Guess he is feeling confident about next season :-).

It will be interesting to see what other 250/500's he has since he is now a commitment player.
Anyone can put London on there, doesn't mean they will get in.
Nice to see he finally has a site.

Re: Milos Raonic
As a Canadian, it's disappointing to someone moving to Monte Carlo as soon as they can afford when their federation provided them plenty of cash/opportunities to help his career.
Even more hypocritical when the guy is working the "Proud Canadian" to unprecedented levels.
It's his choice and may be considered a smart one by some but his popularity may fall quite a bit if that fact was to be well known.

Re: Milos Raonic
There was a feature on The Tennis Channel earlier this week on Milos. Does anyone know if it can be seen online somewhere, or if a Canadian network has picked it up?

so what? everyone does it. Djokovic lives in MC, too. French players Tsonga, Simon, Monfils, Mathieu, Gasquet -- all live in Switzerland.
Milos launched a foundation to support kids; he doesn't have to formally list his residence in Canada just to be able to give back.

Re: Milos Raonic
Plus it is a move more about tax purposes, it doesn't really change the amount time he actually spend in Canada.

well, that's exactly what bothers people like Mr.Prysse. Canada's social services are tax-supported, so when someone is seen as benefitting from them while not paying their "fair share" of income tax, some people get upset.
But his parents worked and paid taxes all through the time he was coming up through Tennis Canada, and I have no doubt he's given back to TC in other ways, plus his success has raised their profile and brought them more youth interested in playing. Now he lives and trains somewhere else, and you can bet he's paying doctors and physios over there from his own pocket -- he's not flying to Canada to get free healthcare.

I said the same thing.. but people in here just laughed. I lost a bit of respect for Milos when I read that. I don't like it one bit. As a socialist, paying taxes is very important.. and I don't like how rich people always seem to get away with not paying taxes. It just isn't fair.
