They're doing that. Original account gets a few months when they're found out, DA gets permabanned - usually without fanfare. Mods never answers questions as to which ones it was.
As for "everyone", I'm sure someone here are enjoying themselves with more accounts and enough computer-savvy not to get caught doing it, but the large majority will settle for one account only. You are certainly in the running for LLTHADA.
Why don't they tell the forum who the multiple accounts are? It's like not telling the public who a criminal is..

Just hypothetically speaking, what would you have used a DA to? Agree with yourself? Disagree with yourself? Be someone else entirely? I don't get the attraction. Only time I've ever wanted a DA was when I was trying to piece together how the rep system works. I managed without one, so no further need.
I don't know their reasoning. Going with empirical evidence here. I have seen requests for such info before, summarily denied by the mods.
Guessing it's the same reason the sports broadcasts try not to show streakers or other people who run onto the field of play to cause a disruption. They do it to get attention and if you show them, you give them what they want and encourage others to do the same.

I've seen quite a bit of Johnny Jump, so it doesn't always work for sports broadcasts, though.
