Re: Australian Open Playoff: December 10-16, 2012
Why wouldn't they give MD WC to Mitchell??? He had great results in Australian futures now and he is young player and his style is cool.
They have shitloads of WCs to give anyway.

Re: Wild Cards
Mitchell is surely one of the candidates and he will take part in the Australian play-off, but I was quite disappointed by him last year : he was around rank 200 one year ago and now he's around 300
there are other candidates who did well last year like Duckworth, Kubler, Saville ...

Re: Wild Cards
Saville is guranteed a qualifying wildcard as the winner of the Australian Open Juniors last year. He may of course get a main draw one but he automatically gets a qualifying wildcard.

Re: Wild Cards
It was Chardy last year.. But directly in the MD this year.
Roger-Vasselin (102) should directly enter MD like Mahut (108).
In other case, possibly Mahut. But in other case I feel more De Scheeper or Dasnieres de Veigy!

Roger-Vasselin will be in, that's certain, Mahut is only 2 or 3 ranks away from main draw as Fish and Nalbandian are out, and some others may withdraw like Zopp ...
If ever Mahut fails entering by one or two ranks, it might be him (if his knee problems are solved) as he's decided to go to Australia even for qualies anyway,
but I rather guess it will be De Schepper, possibly Ouanna but I don't think Dasnières de Veigy.

Re: Wild Cards
According to the following article, Mahut would get the French wild-card if he needs (not enough withdrawals) and wants (physically ready as he's had a long treatment for his knee and has just come back training) it :

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated December 18, 2012)

In the same time, you have 4 WC to give and not full of players likely to have a WC..
=> Matesovic, Tomic, Hewitt & Ebden (almost sure) in MD
=> Mitchell with a WC & probably Saville.
You have three more WC to give and between Millman, Duckworth, Groth, Klein, Smith, Reid or even Kyrgios, no one is ranked in the TOP 200.. (except Millman 198..)
