Yes, Genie Bouchard is the next Maria Sharapova...in that she's being overwhelmed by Petra Kvitova in a #Wimbledon final. Up 6-3, 2-0.:

He's lucky it's not instant death to be honest. Hope all goes well for him but how did this happen in the first place?

That's the irony, his dad jumped right over that height.

Found this article from June-

http://straightsets.blogs.nytimes.co...at-stake/?_r=0

Bubka’s eight hours of surgery led to six months on crutches, a month of sometimes painful walking and an extended regimen of physical exertion.

“I lost 10 kilos,” he said, which is about 22 pounds. “So I have to build all my muscles again now. I do bikes, I do skis, I do little situps.”

But so far, little tennis. “I hit a couple of balls on one leg,” he said with a chuckle, “but now I feel like I can slowly playing some mini-tennis to start feeling the ball again. And in a month or two I should be able to start running.”

His upper body is strong again, he said, “but it’s the right leg is still, aah, still weak,” he said. “It’s painful from time to time, around the hip.”

“It’s the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced in my life,” he said. “So it’s very difficult, but I believe in it, I miss tennis; I’ve always loved to play tennis. Now I love it even more. When you take something away, that’s when you realize how much you miss it.”

How much time has to pass before it's no longer in bad taste for someone to photo-shop this Bubka attempting to pole-vault into a third story window? I don't know how to do it and were already on page seven here and nobady else has done it either, wtf?

I'm glad he feels this way. I wish him all the best.
