Re: Career Grand Slam Semifinals
Jedi Fed, if you put Roddick in the semi final list you have to include Djokovic.

Re: Career Grand Slam Semifinals
Are you sure of your 39 quarterfinals for Federer ? I count only 38 myself.
And I count 21 quarterfinals for Borg.
Besides, Rosewall had 13 grand slam semifinals in the open era, just ahead of Wilander then.
And if you really want to put Roddick in the semifinals list, ahead of him are also Vilas (12), Murray and Courier (11), and tied with him are Newcombe and Ashe.

I don't suppose you needed confirmation, but 38 QFs is right (W: 11, the others: 9).
And Borg naturally has 21 (W: 8, FO: 7, USO: 6).
Roddick is placed below with a gap, I take that to mean he knows there are others but include him anyway, as he has been active this year.

well yes but now Murray is both ahead and active
thanks for your confirmation, it's better to be reassured, I had a small doubt for a while as JediFed is a specialist in Fed's stats

Yes, and he is also on the list....just on 12 rather than 11. And once again, I believe your number is correct (W: 4, USO + AO: 3, FO: 1).

Re: Career Grand Slam Semifinals
Not sure where the error crept in, probably just added 1 twice without rechecking with the total. Borg fixed, Rosewell added.
It was a way to show that Roddick deserves far more credit than he receives, FWIW.

Thank you, and as Roddick is not active anymore, you can also add Vilas with 12 semifinals, Courier with 11 ones, and Newcombe and Ashe with 10 ones in the open era

Re: Career Grand Slam Semifinals
Wilander had 16 semifinals, and 17 Quarterfinals before finally reaching Number 1. Murray has 12 and 14 respectively.

16 SFs and 17 QFs? I typo, I assume. I have him at 13 SFs and 17 QFS. He lost QFs in USO 1983-4 and W 1987-8

I have Tanner at 6 SFs (1 AO, 3 W, 2 USO) and 11 QFs (1 AO, 5 W, 5 USO), also Rosewell at 15 QFs (5 AO, 2 RG, 3 W, 5 USO), Metreveli at 8 QFs (3 AO, 1 RG, 3 W, 1 USO) , Dibbs (4 W, 3 USO) and Bjorkman (2 AO, 2 W, 3 USO) at 7 QFs.
Didn't checked all my numbers, though, just Tanner's and Bjorkman's stat and it seemed OK.

you're right for all of them, thanks a lot
I wonder why I've read so much Rosew Ell and not Rosewall in this thread
By the way as I know you're an expert in young players, Springer, would you know if there's a connection between the Georgian youngster Aleksandre Metreveli and the old glory Alex Metreveli ? grand-son or something ?
