Nü metal is not dead! The Nu-Alternative Metal thread.
Ok, I searched the forums if there was another Nu-metal thread and I see there's not.
I decided to make another music thread, this is inspired in Karin's Prog-Rock thread, one of the best threads in the whole Non-Tennis forums over this board.
Why I decided to open this?
- First of all, I love nü metalm specially the one from the late 90s, early 2000s, amazing music.
- I also love the "bro-genres" of the nu metal, like rap metal, alternative or industrial.
- I'd like to see what the tennis fans all over the world think about this music-genre.
And finally... Because i'm about to start a new metal band, I hope I can share my music with you when we formed it
As you know, my instrument is the bass-guitar, but I consider the composition as my strongest point.
Let's start this! What do you think?
Let this be the first rock in the building:

That's what I was talking about!! Those were the gold days of nü/rap metal.
POD can be considered both things nü and rap metal, I'd say this song in particular is more rap-metal, there aren't that many agressive nü guitars, but still, great song of the golden years.
Daaaaamn, good times.

Thanks for explaining Korn was another band I listened to in that period.
Which bands most inspire you when you make music? And what do you look for in your band? Are you fairly sure who'll be the members or is it somewhat up in the air?
Re: Nü metal is not dead! The Nu-Alternative Metal thread.
Well Im a huge fan of Korn and 2000´s bands, and I deeply love Oomph! (not many ppl know them, but in Germany they are even more famous than Ramnstein) and industrial bands.

Re: Nü metal is not dead! The Nu-Alternative Metal thread.
Well to me Nu-Metal hasn't really been defined, some people think Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Faith No More, Helmet, Prong, Pantera and Deftones are Nu-Metal, well I don't, cause that wasn't even a term when they started, I think Korn are the 1st real Nu-Metal band, those other bands I mentioned are quality music and may have a big influence over Nu-Metal, but they aren't Nu themselves, Roots by Sepultura was also huge for Nu-Metal, I'm not saying there isn't quality stuff in Nu-Metal though, I enjoy Sevendust for instance.
Just so you know viruzzz, Nu-Metal is a subgenre of alternative metal, not the other way around.
Here is the correct definition of Nu: It is a fusion genre which combines elements of metal music with other genres, including hip hop, grunge, funk and industrial.

It's obvious that nu metal comes from Alternative, when I said "Bro-genres" I never meant sub-genres, I just meant genres most nu-metal fans would accept.
And that definition is a little wikipedish , it's reaaally difficult to define nu-metal, I'm not 100% okay with that definition. I think it's like what Chinaski said, when you hear it, you know that's nu.
