I knowwwww. I am torn between wanting to watch him longer and wanting him to win easily. The latter inclination usually wins though. I totally enjoyed watching his beatdown of Tipsy.

I used to be such a sore loser and a little shit, to be honest. These days I'm much better, accept losing as part of the game and moving on.
Were you as bad as Roger in his younger days with all the racquet-throwing?

Quote:
If I was a) good enough and b) wanted to be a pro tennis player, I would not be the next Murray. As much as I like Andy, he's not somebody I'd appreciate being compared to. I'm far more charming, eloquent and handsome than he is, for a start, and my tennis is much prettier, too.
I like your confidence. You definitely have WAY better grammar than he does and you're definitely WAY better-looking as well. I need some evidence to evaluate your last claim...

Quote:
Do you think about home that much?
Nah, I don't miss it much. I literally meant that I was looking forward to playing tennis back home. I don't perspire at all when I play here and it's really weird; and I can't swing properly with the one hoodie that I have (which Roger also has ) so I'd like to play tennnis in the heat and wearing tank tops and skirts without leggings which look so ugly. I clearly have my priorities right...

Fine, do it. March is a long time away, and it might get lost in your bookmarks. But I'm deadly serious about it…
Yesssss I will hold you to it. Can't wait.

Quote:
Definitely. People always talk about 'variety' especially with Roger, but you can't truly appreciate the variation in his game until you watch him live at a different angle to the TV camera.
I know. I found this to be particularly true of his backhand. I was really mesmerised by his topspin backhand actually, especially when I was watching from the first row and courtside. The TV angle doesn't capture the full motion well enough and it's just so pretty to look at in person.

Long matches are bad for the nerves when you're watching live.

I didn't do racquet smashing, I knew that racquets were precious. I did worse, though. If I lost to my brother, I would attack him, full on. I would also yell the rudest words I knew at the time.

Thanks. I'll let Andy have the last one, though. I wouldn't want to be an inherently better person than him.

It must come with age (no offence intended), I couldn't imagine leaving home for a year, right now.

I wanna visit Wimby in the future. It just feels The Slam. AO would be great to visit too. Actually I wanna visit them all, SW19 and AO are just the coolest of them.

But as a parsimonious guy, I'd probably try to get to CC in the first week when the tickets are cheapest, just to get to the CC. Otherwise I'd probably enjoy more of the "outdoor courts'" matches, I probably prefer five-setters between two top 50 players to #1 triple-bageling a #100 player.

He is, but then I'm biased. As long as you don't mind being trussed up like a mummy when he curls up right next to you so you can't move your arms.

He's one of two strays we took in 3 years ago. The other one turned out to be pregnant and had 6 beautiful kittens. At one point, including my own, we had 9 cats in the house. But mamma cat and her babies all went to very good homes and now we just have Roscoe.

Well she did look a bit like you, so I'll blame my glasses and the camera angle being side on. If ever I have the funds I would definitely try to visit the tournament. I'd freeze for a few more for a memory such as that.

Autumn certainly becomes London. Beautiful shot.

Taking a break from doing my essay which is due at 23:59 tomorrow because writing two paragraphs is SO hard.

That is SO terrible. Your brother must have suffered a lot of abuse from you when you were younger. He probably tanked a lot of matches to you to avoid physical harm...

Yeah, I think after 25 years of living at home, having one year of freedom is pretty awesome. Asians in Asia don't typically move out of our parents' homes until we're married; the other way is to go overseas. I'm happy I took the latter route and not the former.

The thought of our excursion in March will get me through the long and cruel winter.

Yeah, the motion is just beautiful. I still prefer his forehand for sure. I found myself gasping involuntarily whenever he hit an amazing forehand, even if it wasn't a winner or whatever. I genuinely felt really happy to be alive because it allowed me to watch him play such beautiful tennis live.

AO is SO fun and fantastic; you should definitely go. It does get a bit hot (understatement of the year ) but that's just part of the fun. And yeah, I preferred watching matches on the outside courts when Roger wasn't on. I had RLA tickets to the first four days and I spent most of my time on the outside courts and went to RLA when I felt like I should to justify the cost of my tickets.

So cute. Must be lovely to have a pet. I can't keep pets because I get too emotionally distraught when I lose them. I had hamsters once and I was SO heartbroken when they passed away.

Why didn't you keep all of them? 9 cats were too much? It's wonderful that you took in the strays. I wish more people would do that so that these poor things could have a proper home and a proper life. Breaks my heart to think about strays being put down because they don't have anyone to take care of them or whatever reasons are used to justify these practices.

I froze for a total of 6 hours over 3 nights and was rewarded on my final night. Soooo worth it.

He's just as competitive as me, and he was always bigger than me, until about a year ago, so he didn't really fear harm. Besides, he would just punch me back, and in hindsight I don't blame him. The problem is well and truly gone, now, especially as my brother has no hope of ever beating me again, despite being an inherently better natural athlete.

I go through spells of wanting to leave home, but truth be told, I'm perfectly happy here right now. Life is so easy compared to what it could be, but there will come a time when I need the challenge of leaving and I will embrace it.

You won't get snow in Central London, or you might, but chances are it will melt away pretty quickly. Snow makes the winter bearable, so that means it will be worse for you!

You better have your own entrance fee covered.

His forehand is technically superb but also deadly. I love the sound it makes and the action he gets on the ball.

If I went to a slam for four days, I'd probably have tickets to the main court only for one or two days, just to get to the arena, in other days I'd have groundpasses or tickets to secondary show courts. Yeah, it'd be great to see a player like Roger live but with my luck he'd probably got an injury before his R1 match and I couldn't see him, as if I wouldn't be too disappointed otherwise.

You two are truly cut from the same cloth. What other sports does he do?
Quote:

So you will go right back home after this?
Depends on whether I can get a job here. I would prefer not to go back to Singapore because my career prospects are extremely limited and they are in areas that I have no interest in. I mean, I could be a human rights lawyer but I would starve and probably get thrown into jail a couple of times. The most prominent human rights lawyer in Singapore is 1) not respected by other members of the profession (which is a shame); 2) constantly in the news for the wrong reasons; and 3) currently trying to dissolve the Law Society because some guy from the Law Soc tried to get a court to declare him unfit to practise law and revealed confidential medical records in the process.

How do I go back to that?

You'll probably want to leave home in a few years when you're older and wanting some new experiences. Are you more an adventurous person or someone who prefers stability in your life though?

Me too. I love everything about Roger.

My main goal was to watch Roger and I didn't know when he was gonna play, so I just bought 8 RLA tickets for insurance. Turned out I only saw him once. He WON'T get an injury. The only possibility of you not seeing him would be a walkover by his opponent which which was exactly what happened to me in Melbourne.

Seriously, if I weren't a Roger fan, I wouldn't have to spend so much money on tickets. I literally don't have an interest in watching the other top players in the first week of a grand slam. No one really wants to watch Nole demolish some random or Roger fool around with some qualifier in the first round of a slam unless he's a huge fan of the player or he's just a casual tennis fan who doesn't know anyone apart from the top players.

It's one of the very best things trip. They love you unconditionally and ask no more than that you take care of them well. That's so sad. It broke my heart each time one of my cats died and I swore I'd never have another as it was all just too much. But here I am with Mr Roscoe and I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh yes. I'm just so hardhearted. I couldn't have looked myself in the eye if I'd left them out. I make no distinction between any of the cats here, but if I'd not taken the little pregnant kitty in, I especially would not have been able to live with myself. Anyway, it all ended happily for them, so that was very rewarding. Mine also. And you see so many of these animals and wonder why on earth the people who had them even bothered in the first place if this is how it was all going to end. Simply because they couldn't or didn't careless.

Roger is worth any amount of frozen extremities. And you'll always have your fabulous memory.
