And imo, a player's class is better seen at the time of defeat, it's far easier to look classy when you win.

cant understand why so many ppl rates that high Djokovic, I love him, but is far from being top 3 in terms of "class".

1- Federer: class= telling the truth as it is
2- Ferrer: nothing to reproach him
3- Tsonga: fair play
4- Del Potro: just plain boring, impossible to read his mind
5- Gasquet: whiner after defeat
6- Murray: fair play, but not really "classy"
7- Tipsarevic: lowlife
8- Djokovic: gracious in defeat, absolutely unbearable in victory
9- Berdych: asshole
10: Nadull: hypocrite, thug, bully

6. Ferrer
5. Nadal, nothing too bad.
4. Gascoke
3. Djokovic, gracious loser. Not so gracious winner though.
2. Del Potro
1. Tsonga, great guy, always looks happy losing
+1
you've got a couple of points there

Totally. And I don't see what's the problem about celebrating a victory. Everyone does at every sport. This forum is probably the only place where it's seen as a bad thing. Although they're probably only Djokovic-haters looking for an excuse.

He always gives the opponent credit and never looks for excuses. Even if it's an important match after he loses he congratulates the opponent with a smile.

Except no. Just no.

The umpire gave the warning for obscenities. The validity of her call is irrelevant. The fact is, in his anger over her call, Ferrer classlessly resorted to a sexist, generalized, and demeaning retort.

You should make sure you understand an argument before submitting a response.

A player like Berdych got way more integrity than most tennis players because he doesn't care to be "liked"
I actually agree with most of this. Class is great for image, but it does nothing for a competitor.

I've recently grown tired of Federer's arrogance (ironically, he's toned it down lately), but I actually used to defend him relentlessly for it because the guy's a winner. If that sort of hubris in any way contributed to his success, and I do believe it has, then by all means, he should keep it up.

I've also never given any grief to guys like Soderling or Berdych for their behavior in the past because they were honest with themselves. I can appreciate honesty far more than a charade.

Spot on. That's exactly why I ranked Djokovic as high as I did as well.

The guy is nothing short of gracious and classy in his post-match interviews.

His on-court antics like the smug frown, the beating of the chest and all that can be a bit much, but it hardly detracts from his otherwise exemplary behavior.

1. Federer
10. All the rest

I can't think of one player in the top 100 whom i would relate with the world "class" or "classy" except from the quintessential class owner - Roger Federer.

The others are "friendly", "shy", "overjoyed", "clownish", "pale", "whatever", but rarely or never - "classy".

Check the WTF speeches at the end and you will see the number 1 in this category speaking and after him one of the pretenders of the trillion miles behind number 2.

Nole's speach was OK for an athlete and much better than probably many others, but class is a qualification that goes with Roger only.

Hahaha, only a rabid, simple-minded Novak fanatic would call me a "Fed fan". It's sad that more than a year later that simple finger wag still upsets you.

Tell me, where did I rank Djokovic on my "class" meter? Where did I rank Federer?

Who just said that he finds Federer's arrogance obnoxious?

Either get your facts straight or don't bother quoting my posts, fanboy.
