Frustrating how Mata (horrible miss before HT), Torres, Oscar and Hazard never seem to get on a roll. It's always bits and pieces of magic but never any sustained form. Looks like our traditional Christmas slump has started early. That's 6 games since we last took a 2 goal lead and 8 games in a row without a clean sheet.
The US just drew Russia 2-2 in Krasnodar without our two best players.
Pretty sloppy performance from the US...Danny Williams had one of the stupidest giveaways in the defensive 3rd I've ever seen leading to an easy Russian goal from 15 yards. We squandered a few chances (Altidore inexplicably sucks with the NT) to equalize and then Michael Bradley had an absolute screamer of a goal assisted by Juan Agudelo.
Clarence Goodson (awful player, no idea why he gets called up) gave up an idiotic penalty in the 84th minute when Howard had it covered and Shirokov put away the penalty.
Then in the 93rd minute, youngster Mix Diskerud struck a volley that deflected and went into the Russian goal to steal a draw for us.
Without Timmy Howard between the sticks, this could have been ugly.
Overall, not a bad year for US soccer and the Klinsmann regime results wise. We finished with a 9-2-3 record, with the losses to Jamaica (away) and Brazil (home), wins on the road against Italy and Mexico, and now a draw on the road against Russia...all of them while missing two to three of our best players. Still lots of improvements needed to be made especially at the CB spots but I like youth infusion that JK seems to be going for.

I'm so gonna vote it Fifa goal of the year, this is the best goal of this year.
It's true, Sweden is a Zlatan-team, but Hamrén found the best position for him in the team. I remember at the beginning of Hamrén the Swedish players were wondering themselves how they can integrate Zlatan better in the team. Since Zlatan plays in the position he does now, they do play better.

I just found out FIFA already announced the nominees for the goal of the year before the matchday today was played Ok, then it's gonna be Eurosport's goal of the year.

That goal is absolutely astonishing. Never seen one like it before.

That will be the last victory of Rafa for quite some time.. With his joke mentality and pathetic game, I hope the disgusting player loses every single match next season. He's disgraceful. He should just retire. He's a joke.
