Surely we are on first name basis with him by now.

By the way, I saw your post on RF.com. Even if you hadn't inserted the smiley I would've known it was you. I lost my password to my old tripwires account. I had at least 500 posts.

This is a few days ago, but - you've been cooking. It's fun, right?

Just saw Javi's pics - Interesting that he didn't come back to offer an explanation...

Hi Mae. How's it going?

Fun? that wasn't the word I would've picked My mom prepared some chicken breast schnitzels for me (pounded out, egged and breaded) and froze them. So I just have to pull it out of the freezer and drop it in a pan with hot oil. Then just come up with a side dish.

It's not difficult but I don't like cleaning the pan afterwards and even if I open the windows and wash everything right after, the apartment still holds on to cooking smells for a long time. That part is annoying. But I'm saving some money, and I will try to learn more.

There's only one Roger in the world that matters.

This reminds me of some mug on my Facebook that commented on one of my Roger-related status updates. I think it was after I got his autograph last Tuesday. The update was something like, "OMG JUST GOT ROGER'S AUTOGRAPH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT." Mug commented, "If I may ask, who is that?" I replied, "Roger Federer, duh! The most famous Roger ever!" Mug said, "Who?"

You didn't even have to prepare it? What side dish did you make? Before I had to cook for myself (i.e. when I was living at home and my mom did everything ) I used to think that I preferred washing up to cooking. Now that I'm cooking every day, I really can't stand the part where I have to wash up. I know what you mean about the apartment stinking. At least you don't live in a tiny tiny tiny studio like me. One time I cooked aglio olio and burned my garlic. My room literally stank the whole night, AND I forgot to open the window when I went out.

If you don't cook, do you normally eat out?

I made some instant rice -- that was good for 2 days, salad another time; some leftover potatoes from dinner at my mom's another time.

My mom usually gives me some leftovers or even stuff she made just for me on Sunday nights when I go to their place for dinner. That's good for two or three days, just needs reheating. Sometimes I'll get stuff from the grocery store that's prepared but just needs reheating. Or stuff you microwave from frozen. Or I'll make a sandwich or salad.

I generally buy my lunch when I'm at work, so yeah, eating out twice a day can get expensive.

I can't cover all the cooking posts, but I think Kat wanted me to know it was you tripwires that she was talking about? Because Kat must know I do know who Roger is? You know trip I don't know your name or if I did I have forgotten it! I just always use trip. But you were in the Miss MTF contest so I guess I should know your name? Also Kat you are right I have been working changing my Avatar and Sig. It is a whole new look for me at MTF! But I think the Gothic look goes very well with a Lurker! Although Sham would probably not agree thinking it causes too much attention to me which is never good for a Lurker

Two new things learned I didn't know about the name "Moose" nor did I know about living on the Atlantic coast. There must be Lurkers in this thread when I'm not here?

Any room for a new lurker?

Speaking of cooking, I don't do too much of it myself, but I made an amazing pork tenderloin today (well, yesterday) and it was so easy too, just the way I like things.

I just smothered the thing all around in dijon mustard, then sprinkled some dried thyme, tarragon, savory (crushing them between my fingers as I sprinkled) and some fine black pepper over both sides. I didn't add any salt because there was enough in the mustard. Then I just put the thing, uncovered, into my pre-heated toaster oven (no point in using the big oven for such a little cut) at about 400 degrees for about 30 minutes, and it came out just amazing. The juices it made were soooooo yummy, I just couldn't believe it. ..If I weren't so lazy, I probably could have made an awesome gravy with those juices, but good enough.

156 means moose, the animal (and thus the meat), Mae.

...But you haven't likely missed anything. Kat, 156 and I all know one another from a different forum.

Actually the Cod is stuff my father caught so it's free, as is the moose.

But the salmon i sfaily expensive food wise compared to most things I buy. 1 fillet is like 12 bucks which will get me through 2 meals maybe, but I can go buy a pack of instant rice, and cook some french fries for a meal far cheaper than 6 bucks. Maybe I'm just cheap

I hate cleaing out the pan too, I leave it there to cool, and it tends to stay there dirty until the next time I need it(which lately is just the next day) and I always think to myself why didn't I clean it out yesterday
