When was Del Potro ever not the standard bearer for the next generation of power hitters though? Even while he was out getting surgery and then slowly coming back, none of the other guys was able to even coming close to match his level of play or achievements.

#7 end for him, with a SF in a Slam and two QF's. Also, he could have a chance to grab a M-1000.

Mugbych dropping out of the top 10 is NID, and good for the game. Ultimately, I wish he would just quit tennis.

Re: Tomas Berdych in 2013
He will win a couple 250.s, def Roger in a 1/4 of a slam and choke to the other top 4 guys.

2013 Berdych's last year in his peak
in early 2014 the decline will approach swiftly !

Could win a Masters too with the right combination of form and draw.
If I had to make a prediction, I'd say 1 Slam final (lost), no other Slam semis, 1 Masters title, year end ranking of #6 behind the current top 4 and Del Potro.

I agree with this

He'll have a solid 2013, provided he draws Noserer in every slam.

Re: Tomas Berdych in 2013
Top 8 Finish (4th consecutive year)
Top 10 All Year (Would push it to 3 and a half consecutive years in the top 10)
Masters Final (Maybe title)
Grand Slam SF
2+ Titles

Re: Tomas Berdych in 2013
Well, Berdych perhaps had a very big chance to make the AO final earlier this year. He just has become so mentally weak against Rafa and so mentally strong against Roger (ironic considering how he was 2005-2007 against the two, it was flipped). So with that being said, Rafa is probably his biggest issue, but now with Rafa's questionable return and form, I think he has a very solid chance of making another slam final. Will he win one? I highly doubt it. Murray and Djokovic will be an issue for him, and Federer will always be an issue if Roger plays well, but that certainly hasn't always been the case in their matches. However, Berdych certainly very prone to sketchy performances, so I'm going to say
AO - QF
FO - QF
Wim - SF
USO - 4th
Perhaps I'm being a bit hard on him, but he isn't getting any younger and many players can expose his inconsistency. Aside from the victory over Federer at the US Open, he has been pretty average at the slams since the French Open/Wimbledon 2010 runs he had. Would be cool if he won a slam, always great for the game especially at this point for a new member of the winner's circle, but I don't think he will reach any finals.

Peak Soderling could bash forehands harder than Del Pushtro can ever dream of, and he hit a heavy cannon-ball of a shot, not like Pony's flat hit.
