Davydenko, many years among top-players, but "Kolya" did you really need to get in the "Ferrer-obsession" wars

Davydenko, weak attempt to start useless arguments

I always believe Davydenko is a better player overall, but Ferrer seems to be catching up especially with 7 titles this year.

Just wondering rather then attempting to cause Ferrer hate!

yes I agree and understand you, but asking such a question to MTF is overrating MTF if you want a real answer, and underrating it as far as hatred is concerned.

I agree that Ferrer is catching up at the moment (and there are other arguments : I have a compilation of H2Hs against 30 other "top-players" of the last decade and Ferrer has 56% wins, Davydenko 47%) but Davydenko is still clearly ahead for several reasons, including the WTF win.

Actually Davydenko is most comparable to Ferrer - age wise, and gamestyle wise - i mean those big hitters totally different than Ferrer, but this is more similar, howewer Davydenko´s career is better and his peak by far superior, Ferrer is Mr.consistent at his best, but can´t challenge top 4, Davydenko at his best was offensive machine, left -right left-right, playing super quick tennis even best deffenders feel the pressure, Davydenko at his best was indoor beast, Ferrer at his best is Mr. consistent. Davydenko over Ferrer for sure

ferrer is way more consistent, but highlights in davydenko´s career are better...so it depends on what you care more

I really love both players but it's Kolya. He simply has/had amazing shot skills. It's too bad he didn't win a major. I remember 5 years or so, everyone was making fun of him, but he is really that good. Davydenko simply has a better natural instinct than Pics.

it's a pure prejudice, they have similar H2Hs to best players :
Djokovic-Davydenko 6-2 // Djokovic-Ferrer 9-5
Federer-Davydenko 17-2 // Federer-Ferrer 13-0
Murray-Davydenko 6-4 // Murray-Ferrer 6-5

main difference is :
Nadal-Davydenko 5-6 // Nadal-Ferrer 15-4

but Ferrer has much more often played against Nadal on clay than Davydenko :
on hardcourts : Nadal-Davydenko 1-6 // Nadal-Ferrer 3-3
on clay : Nadal-Davydenko 4-0 // Nadal-Ferrer 12-1

and against other good players :

against oldies :
Davydenko-Roddick 1-5 // Ferrer-Roddick 7-4
Davydenko-Nalbandian 5-7 // Ferrer-Nalbandian 8-5
Davydenko-Hewitt 0-4 // Ferrer-Hewitt 2-1
Davydenko-Safin 4-4 // Ferrer-Safin 1-1
Davydenko-Ferrero 3-2 // Ferrer-Ferrero 7-2
Davydenko-Ljubicic 4-4 // Ferrer-Ljubicic 6-1
Davydenko-Haas 4-1 // Ferrer-Haas 2-0
Davydenko-Gonzalez 6-0 // Ferrer-Gonzalez 5-5
Davydenko-Blake 1-7 // Ferrer-Blake 1-2
Davydenko-Robredo 5-2 // Ferrer-Robredo 5-2

against youngsters :
Davydenko-Söderling 4-7 // Ferrer-Söderling 4-10
Davydenko-Del Potro 3-2 // Ferrer-Del Potro 5-2
Davydenko-Tsonga 2-1 // Ferrer-Tsonga 2-1
Davydenko-Berdych 9-2 // Ferrer-Berdych 5-3
Davydenko-Gasquet 2-3 // Ferrer-Gasquet 7-1
Davydenko-Monfils 2-2 // Ferrer-Monfils 0-3

I was talking just about top 4 not rest of the tour. And H2h is not important here, Ferrer just can´t challenge them- yes he is favorit vs Murray on clay, but generalyl speaking at big events slams, WTF, Masters, Ferrer can´t beat Top 3 and can beat just Murray on clay - yes in the past he has some victories, like Rafa straight sets in Melbourne...

Davydenko when was playing good was threat vs top 4, on outdoor HC and indoor HC- most of the tour HC - he was threat even to Roger, and was superior on this surfae over Rafa and was able to challenge Nole and Andy

I'm fed-up with those prejudice

I could put every fact in front of your eyes, nothing would change.

in slams, the only top-4 which Davydenko defeated was 19-year-old Murray in the US Open 2006, Ferrer defeated Nadal and Murray.

Congrats Kolya you gave another place for people to display all of their prejudice on Ferrer

Clearly Davydenko is the more accomplished and I doubt Ferrer has enough time and energy left to catch him (assuming Davydenko is essentially finished).
