Haven't read through the whole thread, but I would like to report some comments made by Kim Tiilikainen, who is Janowicz' Finnish coach, to the Finnish media on Tipsy's retirement:

"Tipsarevic needs to go buy himself a skirt. He didn't have any problems, he just didn't know how to lose properly. He said he suffered from dizziness, but I think he was simply dizzy because he couldn't do anything against Jerzy's game."

A bit harsh perhaps but maybe justified

Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

There's a hint of arrogance, but it doesn't mean that he's wrong in any regard. Shitsy needs to grow some balls.

If he would have stood there and just waved at the ball with the racquet and cried in anguish it would have been infinitely preferable to quitting like a sissy. Or perhaps as others imply he may betting on himself and retired so as to not lose money, which is also despicable.

In my life I've played tennis, baseball, football, ice hockey and other sports. Not once did I ever quit like this professional did today. I won multiple Most Valuable Player awards not just for my athletic ability. There were others with more talent, or faster, or stronger, or even better overall stats. I won these awards because I lead my team by example, putting in my best effort, coming through in the crucial situations, and refused to give in when it looked bad, and finally an obvious winning attitude. When losing, I knew how to take a loss and make it into a positive for myself and everyone around me. One can also lose with a winning attitude.

It doesn't matter that singles tennis play is not a team sport. One has a moral duty to respect oneself, to one's support team, to the paying crowd, to the opponent, to the sport as a whole, as one is representing the sport every time one walks out there on the court. If too many acted like Tipsarevic and others, the sport would surely die. If I could crawl to the line and had use of one arm, I would attempt to hit the ball and complete the match.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Ballsy of the coach to openly say that. Love it.

Really? That guy with a beard who was picking his nose on live tv today said that? That manly man who looks like he has at least 55kg said that?Well, even in a skirt, Tipsy would easily bitchslap him.
