Re: Will Djokovic surpass Nadal's slams?
No. I don't want to hear about Novak or care about Novak no more. I wish he would send back those 5 slams cause he does not deserve them after making the biggest choke of his life. But the answer is no. He will not get close to 10. I think he might win 3 more slams at most

Re: Will Djokovic surpass Nadal's slams?
Fairly unlikely, but not impossible at this point. He had his dream year but hasn't maintained it, but few thought he would. Nadal is unlikely to get that many more himself, but Nole probably wont catch him. He's not even half way there yet.

Sheeple and Roy
If Novak is only winning 3 more in the next 4-5 years, who is winning the rest?

Re: Will Djokovic surpass Nadal's slams?
Muzza will surpass both of these mugs combined
4 calendar grand slams in a row for the Highlander.

Re: Will Djokovic surpass Nadal's slams?
even if Nadal were to win zero more the odds would be EXTREMELY low that Djokovic could catch up. he'll probably win a few more so 100% Nadal

Re: Will Djokovic surpass Nadal's slams?
Nole needs a three slam year in 2013 and even then it is not a certainty.
Not to mention Rafa can be expected to keep adding to his count at least at Roland Garros.

Re: Will Djokovic surpass Nadal's slams?
Won't happen, even with Nadal (possibly) adding only one additional French Open.

Not after he opens the slam winning door to Murray.

Re: Endless Djokovic-Nadal debates. Who will won more Slams?
It's not even a "debate" at this point. Nole isn't even close so there is no debate as of yet. Let him get close then we can debate which of the two will win more Slams. So far, it' s not even on the radar.

Nadal and Djokovic's mental toughness is overrated
(Tbh this is mainly about nadal, because his style is a lot defensive than djokovic who hits his shot much flatter)
They play defensive tennis, go for less riskier shot, opting just to get the ball back instead of trying for a winner. They leave a greater margin of error in their shots and as a result, their unforced error counts are always lower. Therefore its not surprising that in a highly pressurized situation (i.e. match point down/deep into the 5th set), the nerves in their body would affect them less than someone who plays near the lines or hit flatter shots.
Contrary to what most people here think, defensive grinders are the real brainless players of tennis, their game requires more physique but much less skill. Ballbashers (attacking players in general) have to think and aim for their shots. Considering pure difficulty only, it is harder for del potro to time his bashes perfectly to find the line than for nadal to play his game of fetching the ball like a dog.
I liken nadal/djokovic/murray to manual workers on a farm, they do a good job, but its neither exciting nor does it require much skill. If you tell a farmer to pick 100 carrots in under an hour or he dies, he'll always complete this task, no problem whatsoever. Whereas if you tell someone to complete a more skillful task under a similar pressure, they're more likely to falter - for example someone performing brain surgery will be very shaky in their hands and that'll affect them a lot more than if they were simply picking carrots on a field. Hence you get this misconception that the likes of nadal and djokovic are somehow so much more mentally tougher than the rest. Considering all this, I think del potro is arguably the mentally toughest player in tennis since pete sampras, he has never choked before, and no I don't count RG this year because he was injured after the 2nd set.

Re: Nadal and Djokovic's mental toughness is overrated
This is wrong. Dull and Djoker are both awfully clutch. Two of the most clutch in history. But not Djoker before 2011.
