Re: Football Zone
Too good Schalke. Totally deserved.
Why didn't Giroud play? He's not going to start scoring goals on the bench…

Re: Football Zone
City
Mancini continues to show how clueless he is in Europe, was the same at Inter, City haven't got a hope of winning it as long as he's in charge.
Brilliant from Dortmund too, glad they've gotten it together in the CL this season though possibly at the expense of their League form. So entertaining to watch, Klopp's done an incredible job there.

There's no goals anywhere right now in our team.

Re: Football Zone
Great to see Dortmund dominate Real Madrid. Easily one of the best teams to watch.
Also great to see City getting bossed yet again. They should have zero points if not for ridiculous handball against Subotic.
Allegri surely finished for Milan now, maybe gets the league game this weekend but regardless of that result he must be shown the exit door.
Montpellier continue to suck this year.

Re: Football Zone
I hope we can go to Gelsenkirchen and get a point.
It then makes the Montpellier and Olympiakos games must-wins to top the group.

Re: Football Zone
Africa Cup of Nations groups drawn today:
Group A:
South Africa
Morocco
Angola
Cape Verde
Group B:
Ghana
Mali
Niger
Democratic Republic of Congo
Group C:
Zambia
Nigeria
Burkina Faso
Ethiopia
Group D:
Côte d'Ivoire
Tunisia
Algeria
Togo
I'd say Group D clearly the toughest, with A being very well balanced. Would be very surprising if Zambia and Nigeria don't make it out of C and same for Ghana and Mali in B. Tournament opens with Cape Verde making their debut against hosts South Africa. North African derby between Tunisia and Algeria in first set of Group D matches. Sahel derby between Mali and Niger as well.

Italian papers are already speculating that Tassotti and Gattuso could be the next coaching team when Allegri is sacked.

Mancini is simply not up to it in Europe. Been saying it for years. If City want to compete for the trophy they need a better tactician.
Zenit were awful. They look like a team of prima donnas and needed a ridiculous bit of stupidity from Jovanovic to win their game with their only chance.
Montpellier have had key players sold off, but from the bits I saw they were their own worst enemy, dominating and not finishing off a poor Olympiakos side when they had the chances to.

Re: Football Zone
Glorious night of CL. Group D truly living up to its hype, which is fantastic to see. Hopefully Ajax can somehow qualify, although I'll settle for Shity finishing rock bottom.
Perfect 3/3 for the Bundesliga, which is remarkable considering two tough away fixtures and one home to RM. Can't remember the last time 3/4 EPL teams lost in one week but WTF has happened to Serie A? Once the powerhouse of Europe, now overtaken by France, Portugal and even Ukraine.

Well Juve aside none of the clubs in Serie have much money. But it is an over reaction to say those three countries have surpassed them. Lille and Montpellier are both having dreadful Champions League campaigns. Ukraine is league where only two clubs can win the title, though it is already over this year due to how good Shakhtar are.
Serie A was unfortunate in Champions League this year as Milan decided to cut costs and offload half their team without bringing in replacements. And Udinese were a soft #3 plus they were gutted of some of their best players, Asamoah has been a star at Juve for instance. But there are major issues in Italy to sort out just as there are in Spain and England also.

Re: Football Zone
^ Following on it, Italy just clinched 5 points out of 18 possible for the UEFA ranking :/
Very sad stuff from Napoli today, Mazzarri failed miserably since he should've put reserves against Juve not today. Poor Walter got excited with the idea of leading Serie A, underestimated the opponents and got served.
