Of the 4 finalists last week, only Nole played decent tennis this week. Kei and Milos are out and Tsonga survived thanks mainly from the "momentary brainless sydrome" suffered by Paire most of the time

That's probably the reason for the UE counts.

I see why the relatively high UE number in a fairly one-sided match.
W/UE: Nole 18/13, Feli 12-27. From corner to corner, 8 aces in the first set alone! Overall 12 aces, lost 7 pts on serve. I won't deny there are still some facepalm worthy moments though, I'm very impressed by his persistent efforts to improve his net game / serve. Keep on trying! On the other hand I started to wonder seriously if it's too late to fix his overhead smash, just to a decent level. He looks more and more nervous with the shot nowadays. It's almost sad.
Next match, vs Tipsy or Haas. It won't be straightforward whomever he faces.

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters, QF
Glad Nole's getting through okay. Plays tomorrow N.B. 6 p.m., which is 6 a.m. here so actually doable! Excited to watch him live for the first time in a while.
Ajde Nole!

Djokocoaster goes into storage during this Asian swing. You blink and he's done with his service game. I contribute part of his ace counts to the abyssmal level of Lopez ROS though.
He really lacks confidence in his overhead smash. He should hire Pete

Yep, the level of his serve has been fluctuating for a while. As I said on the match thread, I'm yet to be convinced. About the overhead smash, you can tell it by how tentatively his feet are moving, while preparing for the shot. All of a sudden the famous footwork gets so clumsy.

He should have taken advantage of other WTF contenders' early exit. Now 9th-14th are all out before QF. In fact, Cilic's become the new 14th.

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters, QF
I'm a little worried about Haas.
Haas has been on fire recently and he took a set off Nole in Canada... I hope Nole brings his A-game... He doesn't want to be tired for his semifinal match.
AJDE!

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters, QF Haas
Why was I thinking he was serving for the set? High quality match so far.
I feel Nole isn't too comfortable to play Haas but hope he'd calm down a bit.
