Re: WWW ? China Open Final : Tsonga - Djokovic
I'll be happy enough if Tsonga takes 3 or more games, and hopefully no bagel.

Re: WWW ? China Open Final : Tsonga - Djokovic
tsonga threw away match points on his worst surface at his worst slam
he does not possess the return of serve or (in this era) the movement to be a slam winner
djokovic will dismantle the tsonga serve, one break in each set is all that is required
tsonga will win any tiebreaks however, and that may be his best chance to make it a 3 setter, where its anyone's to win

Tsonga's movement isn't an issue, his shit BH and ROS are. He has the best attacking game in tennis overall along with Federer imo (considering serve, fh, net play, power...), but he leaks too many ridiculous errors with his BH and tanks too many return games to be a genuine top player in this particular era and conditions.

Re: WWW ? China Open Final : Tsonga - Djokovic
I don't see Tsonga taking a set but I haven't watched a single minute from this tournament. I'll try to watch this on TV tomorrow if I can get up early enough.

yes, his backhand is related to his poor movement
he does not cover that wing effectively, and does not have a good slice or drive backhand to make up for it
he should be camping in the backhand corner, to hit the big forehand return. he does not do this often enough
i disagree that he would be necessarily better in say, the 90s. yes, his serve and volleys would be even more effective, but that return of serve...can see him winning wimbledon or us once or twice, and that's at a push
more hard court masters, certainly

If you haven't seen any matches from Beijing, you could at least read the name of the tournament - it's called China Open.
Nole in 2 (1 easy, 1 close) or 3 (1st and 3rd easy, 2nd to be won by Tsonga 7-5 or 7-6)

I've seen last 2 Novak's matches. He is playing very well. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see Tsonga at all, but read here and on other tennis forums that his form is not that great atm. I think Nole will win but I never underestimate Tsonga.

Re: WWW ? China Open Final : Tsonga - Djokovic
I dont see anything in Tsonga that would hurt Nole.
Its all in Nole's racket! and he'll do it in straight sets.
