Murray`s negative attitude on court
How do you think how many matches Andy lost due to negative attitude during match? Today he was malicious after every single point he didn`t take. I understand, now he is legend Goldray and Slamray , but it doesn`t believe he will never lose again hovewer we joked about it.
I can remember at least 5-6 for last years where the obvious reasons of losses were wrong focus for Andy. Too many tantrums, too litle smart and accurate play.
For me sometimes it looks like Andy has conflict in himself while losing to players he should have won to his mind. "How on earth I missed that backhand, I should have never even played this kind of shot against this opponent. Failed, Andy, be smarter!". And so on. He concentrates on some bad points more than they deserve. I can remember the same thing with early Federer.
The most important thing I saw as a result of Lendlray co-work was changing of Murray`s behaviour on court. I thought that after victory on GS it would be even easier for Murray to face little fails during matches here and there, but now I`m not that sure.
Any thoughts?

Re: Murray`s negative attitude on court
well Ivan is in Holland right now playing the AFAS tennis classics, so I see a connection there.
It is the way he is. He is a perfectionist, he does not forgive his own mistakes and tends to dwell on them. His victory at the USopen will just raise the bar higher, so no I don't think it will ever go away. I have the exact same thing on court and I have to say it is really tough to deal with. I am amazed at how well he does even when he is being so hard on himself. Then again I am a royal mug and Andy is an exceptionally gifted player. My idea is that it is not really an issue his talent won't make up for.

Re: Murray`s negative attitude on court
To bad that Ivan wasn´t there, he would spank him in locker room after this match and his behaviour.
It looks like old habbits never dies, he can be 10x slam champion and will be the same. I mean is good to have temper, but look at Raonic and look at Murray and than you make mistakes and so on, definitely Milos´s poker face is for mentally toughness better than Andy´s saying f..k like 1000x in match

Re: Murray`s negative attitude on court
It's a disgusting attitude to say the least. Never seen a player cursing after every freaking point won by his opponent.

Re: Murray`s negative attitude on court
I think Kim must have just broken up with him, cause I haven't seen him this mad in a while.

Re: Murray`s negative attitude on court
The grabbing his hip or other bodypart when he loses a point is the most disgusting part

stop overreacting. His whining will cost him fans, but he's not doing anything wrong besides making an ass out of himself.

Re: Murray`s negative attitude on court
a lot of it is pure bluff designed to get inside his opponent's head.
things like crying when he gets aced at 135mph or fails to make a pass from row Z of the stand.
and yes, the role of lendl on his on-court demeanour has been overstated. people decided on the narrative as soon as lendl was appointed and stuck with it despite countless incidents of contrary evidence.
the narrative being that murray would never swear at his box and generally act like a prissy little bitch on court with a lengend like lendl in his corner.

Well put across, I agree with a lot of that. His attitude, considering what he's achieved & got off his shoulders is p!ssing me off. However, he wants to be more consistent so that will be bothering him. Come slams, I genuinely do think he will be a threat at three out of four slams from now on, taking another 2-3 in his career IMO.
He should relax, enjoy his tennis for the rest of the year then make an assualt on AO title. But he seems to be piling the pressure right back on, I can't fathom him.
Very complex game, complex character ? Ledl missing having an effect ?

I think it's just a show for TV too.
But how is acting like a weak-ass bitch getting inside the rivals head, reverse psychology?
