Re: Tokyo QF: Nishikori def. Berdych 7-5 6-4
Gosh, Tomas was made to look a little helpless today. He does hit the bigger ball, but his super-linear hitting patterns were really exposed. And as usual first serve let him down. I don't think at 5-5 deuce in the first set he got a single first serve in . It was really bizarre to watch this tall strong man really bullied by this short guy but Nishi did play the match of his life probably .
I will say though, Nishi, don't be one of these players that flexes your knee all the time like you're in pain but continue to run like a rabbit. A tad annoying .
Can't believe some people call Berdych a bad sport . As soon as the match was over he takes to FB to write this: "Congrats to Kei...He played great match..." .

Re: Tokyo QF: Nishikori def. Berdych 7-5 6-4
Didn't expect this result. Berdych allowing himself to be bullied by mini-Kei. It should be Berdych doing the bullying. Had a good chance of winning the tournament and I wanted a rematch vs Murray
Kei will be fodder to a superior "tactician" (read grinder/pusher)

From what I saw, Kei was awesome! Great to see, really want him to do well. Great guy.
As for Tomas, just prepare for next week.

Re: Tokyo QF: Nishikori def. Berdych 7-5 6-4
Amazing match from Kei Amazing how a player with his height limitations can be so attacking and aggressive; he literally 'bullied' one of the the biggest hitters on tour.
Hope he can keep this up and beat Bagdathis tomorrow and then Murray/Raonic in the final.
As for Tomas, disappointing result but he's seeded #4 next week in Shnaghai so he has a good chance to go far, he should focus on that.

From what I saw Tomas was useless.
Berdych's handshakes always show some emotions

Re: Tokyo QF: Nishikori def. Berdych 7-5 6-4
Nishikori played amazing tennis, very fast and using all corners of the court- he reminded me of Davydenko at some moments with his agressive tennis and taking ball early. Berdych was running behind the baseline - he was out of his comfort zone he is not used to be deffender.. why Nishikori wasn´t able to play like this vs Monaco just week ago? i still have flashbacks of that match and he choked there badly when he was leading and now 1 week after he is ,,bullying,, Berdych on the court

That's Tomas' 'too good' face. He did the same to Gulbis at Wimbledon .
