Default Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

most of our lower ranked players are back in Australia now for the futures tournaments starting in Cairns this week. some of the players i'm looking out for would be Saville, Feeney and Kokkinakas after having fairly solid results overseas since the Australian futures at the start of the year (not so much with Kokkinakis... but he should still do reasonably well in these). no real surprise results after the first round except for Whittington beating Barton 2-6 7-5 6-0 and 15 year old Omar Jasika winning his first ranking point beating Austin Karosi from America 6-2 6-2.

good job by Saville winning the first Australian futures title in the series in Cairns it was a fairly week field, but they should get a bit stronger over the next few events with Groth, Mithcell, Reid and a few others down to play some in the future.

also i wont be able to do the results over the next two weeks, so if anyone else wants to do it then go ahead

Most probably Reid, as in the mighty Matt Reid - but he is rightfully playing Challengers in China.

Klein seems to be based in Turkey, at the Academy at which Hopper is coaching. It most probably is a cheaper way for him to be in Europe.
Easy points it also seems for him, helping him up the rankings.
Well done Klein

Not sure which player it is, but either Mitchell or Peperzeel is such a complete dick. He's tanking the whole match and at the same time having tantrums. Go home.

it must have been van Peperzeel since he lost 6-0 6-1... why would you tank in a quarter final, even though it's only a futures event it's still good for someone of his rank! he could have gone alright too, he'd already beaten Barton this week
