Kei leads the H2H 2-1, 2-0 on hardcourts.
How so?

Nishikori has only reached the QF twice in his entire career in a bigger event.

Hopefully Berdych wins, as he won't roll over to Murray if they play, because he has weapons, unlike Nishikori. I want Andy to be tested this week.

Tough call. Would like to see Kei winning his home tournament, but am also curious to see how Berdych would do against Murray without the wind.

False hope in Kei. Berdych will take him out in 2 sets.

Berdych in straight sets. If he is playing well he will win. Kei is solid baseliner, playing fast tennis, good top 20, but if Tomas will play good he will outplay him, outhim him - courts are supossed to be pretty quick here, so his powerfull groundstrokes and big serve should be enough to hit through Kei and overpower him in rallies.

It should have been Robredo here. Well, then Kei would win, not the worst scenario either.

If forgeting about wishful thinking - Berdych will most likely destroy Nishikori 2 and 1.

I was busy a bit, but remembered.

I`m sure we have obvious case here - Tommy was toying with Kei and easily took 1st serve and then just lost concentration, he would have won playing focused during all the match.

All of top 4 usually play M1000s. So you mean Berdy or Kei should be in top 4.

Anyway, expect Berdy to win, probably in two. Fast courts should suit him, only way for Kei to win would be Tomas having a bad day.

But I hope Kei to win and succeed in front of his home crowd.

Sure Getting breadsticks and bagels shoved down your throat have been known to affect one's concentration so we can hardly blame Boredo here.

Is Tokyo a M1000 event though? I said Tomas vs Kei is too good a match for a 500 QF, for a 1000 QF it'd arguably be a weak match.

Next time they play (hope, on clay) Tommy won`t be so merciful, so better use the moment and celebrate as it`s for the last time.

That doesn't make any sense, as there is nothing in-between.

How about a M1000 R16, or a 500 semi-final?
