Listen, I think Federer is not a doper.
My two cents.

We get it. Mods, does this thread count as a doping accusation? Thinly veiled, but anyone who knows anything knows what's going on here.

i dunno what you're talking about, J. you're having fantasies again.
i'm simply interested in knowing what happens with the tournament winners who get caught doping.
serious question: what are the cases in which the tournament winner has been declared void due to the fact that the winner got caught?

They don't do anything publicly(the punishment) but in private when it's the big names... For example a certain multiple slam winner who was married to a very famous actress was never berated in public while active but ended up withdrawing from his best(most successful) slam as penalty.

"And what if in ten's years time a very successful player of today's era who, say, managed to defeat in several ocassions a player who some even consider to be the alleged GOAT, gets finally exposed as a long time doper, should he be stripped away from his achievements and be reasigned to his long time rival (in the cases in which that rival got beat in the final and it was certain that doping happened at the time)?"
I think the OP was speculating about No2e's 2011 against Nadal, might've been wrong.

FYI, this thread is motivated by Lance Armstrong getting caught several years after his retirement.

Weird that you associate anything related with doping to a certain player.
Is talking about doping prohibited in MTF?!

Making accusations/insinuations about players where there is no concrete evidence is prohibited.

Yeah, I just read about this. I instantly guessed where you're coming from.
And 'yes' is my answer to the thread question.

Re: If a tournament winner gets exposed as a doper, should he be stripped off his awa
It's not ideal to give the runner up the titles bc the doper has screwed the 6 players before that (in a slam), but that's too bad. In general the runner-up is not always the 2nd best player in the tournament, but he still gets the accolades of the 2nd best in that tournament.
Giving the losing finalist the title is clearly the best option available IMO.

Re: If a tournament winner gets exposed as a doper, should he be stripped off his awa
I think the tournament could "vacate" the title, but the prize money should not be forfeited.
And no the runner-up should not receive the prize anymore than any player the "doping" champion beat along the way. There's no guarantee that the finalist would have won if someone else had been in the final. And even if a player is shown to have doped in the past, since he was not caught at the time, there is no way to know with certainty that a particular win was dubious because of the doping. Its all speculation.
If players are being tested and not found to be doping, then it should be left at that. Endless speculation, innuendo is not fair. You would not want people attacking you without any factual basis to their claims.
You cannot penalize a player you might suspect, just because the testers cannot find what may not be there.
