little belarus, doping soviet-style while the rest of the world has moved on ages ago. anti-doping agencies keep busting albanians, belarussians, kazakhs etc...poor bastards.

great performance by hungary overall but hardly surprising. they used to be a powerhouse back in the days, rock solid per capita achievements too. as long as water is involved in one way or the other, the hungarians are up there with the best.
btw if it wasn't for phelps, cseh would be a five-time (!) olympic champion.

Veerpalu one of the best classical skiers of all time. Too bad about how his career ended though.

Interesting stat but it has more flaws than the stat about current Olympics because countries and their population are changing over time.
They should count people who died during the period, too (to the population numbers). Ofc it's much tougher than just count the current population.
