The USA men's volleyball team were they losers of the olympics. Going out like punks in the quarters,

Re: Olympic Games 2012 London Thread (All other sports besides tennis)
ger ahead of fra. nuff said. now gagsquet and i can both get back to supporting gasquet tonight.
mediocre olympics for team germany. some great results, like the men's hockey and beach volleyball, many stinkers, like the swimmers etc. finishing 6th is okay, finishing behind south korea is not.
we gotta financially starve the rowers and provide better funding for team sports like handball, basketball eand the likes. we all know that's what counts in the real world, outside the olympic bubble that matters only 2 weeks every 4 years.

Isner is out of Cincy. Maybe Gasquet just got lucky yesterday.

Cammarelle: 'Sconfitta che brucia. Voi dite che ho vinto ma tra 20 anni in albo d'oro ci sarŕ nome di Joshua'
'Loss that hurts, you all say I won but in 20 years from now it'll be his name in the winners list'
Good that he attended the ceremony after being robbed like that. Napoli players should take note from a great sportsman.

I'd forgotten about those jokers, that's how bad it was for them. They certainly were the losers.
The US volleyball team had looked really good though in prelims. Also I'd say the women's team folded pretty badly in the final after dominating the 1st set. Failure olympics for the volleyball contingent.

I disagree! They weren't the favorites for sure and we all know how you play in the preliminary groups means absolutely nothing in volleyball!
They've done nothing prior the pre-Olympics years, tried to gather some form for the OG, but the team is very old to sustain a good level for a long time! Most players will retire now!
Women's team though, fell pretty miserably! I agree!
I would called Poland the biggest disappointment in the men's volleyball tournament! More so than USA.

Bit of Churchill to kick off the closing ceremony.

Re: Olympic Games 2012 London Thread (All other sports besides tennis)
once again great showcase of britain's best. overall it seems like the whole olympics have rejuvenated and replenished the nation's spirits the same way the 2006 world cup rejuvenated germany's. good to see the brits back on top.
*edit: but don't you start playing proper football!
