Jared Hiltzik just set a world record on a serve. According to radar gun it was 166 mph. #probablyamalfunctionif gun#natszoo

if anyone else is watching the webcam, is Hiltzik the one in orange? It is so hard to identify the players.

A great point at 5-5 in tiebreaker won by Hiltzik, but Papa throws racquet after and that's GSM Hiltzik(6) d. Papa(9) 61, 76(5) #natszoo

I was right, Jared was the one in orange. Spencer, if you are going to throw the racket at least keep it on your side of the court .

Re: 2010 USTA Boy's National Tennis Championships
5TH ROUND - 18s
Krueger, Mitchell (1) def. Kumar, Mihir 6-3, 6-2
Rubin, Noah (5) def. Wood, Nick 6-3, 3-6, 6-2
Novikov, Dennis (3) def. Kwiatkowski, Thai (10) 6-4, 6-4
Schneider, Ronnie (7) def. Adams, Harrison (31) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
Hiltzik, Jared (6) def. Papa, Spencer (9) 6-1, 7-6(5)
Vinsant, Shane (30) def. Richmond, John Harrison (28) 7-6(1), 6-2
Halebian, Alexios (8) def. Kozlov, Stefan (11) 6-3, 1-6, 6-4
Redlicki, Michael (2) def. Baughman, Deiton (16) 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-1
Pretty much everybody who was predicted to be there is there. Great match-ups in the quarterfinals . I think it will be Krueger, Novikov, Hiltzik, and Redlicki in the semis.
5TH ROUND - 16s
Stewart, Mitch (1) def. Showers, Will (10) 6-3, 6-2
Staggs, Logan (13) def. Colton, Chase 6-3, 7-5

Griffith, William (15) def. Mateas, Catalin 7-5, 6-2
Monroe, Shane def. Genender, Michael 4-6, 6-2, 6-4
Gozun, Alexandru (32) def. Hadavi, Shawn 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(4)
Mylnikov, Tommy (7) def. Klinger, Cameron 6-3, 7-5
Oosterbaan, Paul (2) def. Ponwith, Nathan (16) 7-5, 6-4
Keep going Henrik . Gozun must love marathons .
Edit: Seven of Top Eight Seeds Reach 18s Quarterfinals; Wiersholm Takes Out No. 3 Seed Aron Hiltzik in 16s at Nationals

Oh boy, this is going to be interesting now. The winner of this tournament will invariably be a player that is way out of his depth at the challenger level, so the fact that he will get a USO WC will be

Main thing today is that Rubin d. Krueger 6-2 6-4. Not that surprising IMO, but still an upset.
Novikov d. Schneider 5-7 7-5 6-4

Halebian, Alexios (8) def. Redlicki, Michael (2) 6-4, 7-6(7)

Re: 2010 USTA Boy's National Tennis Championships
2 questions:
1) is there live videostreaming somewhere?
2) what was the deepest a MD-WC (winner of this) or Quali-WC (runner up of this) made it into the USO draw? just curious...

Not so surprising, really. In my opinion the tops seeds this year were weaker than we've seen in the past few years. Not even the top two seeds, Krueger and Redlicki, are able to fight at the challenger level yet. At least guys like Jack Sock and Mitchell Frank, Alex Domijan Chase Buchanan and Rhyne Williams, or even Ryan Harrison were winning futures events around the time they played KZOO.
I'm not saying this years group won't improve to be good though.

1) Live streaming is here if it doesn't rain http://146.113.47.100/view/index.shtml Not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
2) I'm not sure about this. Last year the winner was Jack Sock and he reached the second round against Roddick, but this decade they all usually lose first round. There were probably some deep runs by winners a couple decades ago when teens could do well in the ATP. I just checked the archive and Michael Chang was a Kalamazoo winner.

Re: 2010 USTA Boy's National Tennis Championships
The current local time I believe is about 10:30 am. And it looks like the semifinals of the boys 16s are close to finishing. I haven't checked the schedule but I assume the 18s semifinals will start soon after. The website is www.ustaboys.com
