Default What's more likely to happen for the Americans in the olympics

The last olympics were Blake Ginepri and Querrey. Unimpressive trio but Blake was thisclose to a silver due to beating Big Bad Fed.

This time the top is more accomplished with Roddick there. What's more likely to happen next week for the Americans

Medaling
All 4 lose their first matches
Neither

Neither.

Roddick probably wins his first, loses to Djokovic.

Isner in all likelyhood will lose to Fed, that's if he even makes it that far.

The only thing for 100% certain is Donald Young will lose to Seppi. The rest is up for grabs, that's why they play the games.

Ummm medaling I guess, since that'd mean Roddick losing to Klizan

But it's okay, because the top 10 playing more is good for the game!

Americans win kill it. Roddick will win gold and Harrison will duke it out with young for silver and bronze.

Similarly in doubles it will be an all American medal affair with the Bryans taking gold and Roddick/Isner picking up silver...etc...etc...

According to the draw, the best Americans can do is Isner-Young and Roddick-Harrison semis. If Young and Harriser somehow play each other, it'd be for Bronze. Of course that would assume Isner beats Fed, Roddick beats Djok and Young and Harrison win any matches at all next week

Everything is possible then. Roddick is 5-3 against the great Serbian faker and he won 4 of the last 5 matches they've played.

A-Rod is a bad matchup for Novak...Novak doesn't have a good fast serve return. If Andy serves over 70ish percent first serves Novak is going to have real trouble.

Yea I didn't look it all up. I just wanted to post something ridiculously pro-American since posters here love to poop all over the current state of American tennis. Which is what this thread is really about isn't it?

The thread title actually reads "How bad is American tennis, just how much do those guys suck now?"

young/seppi = usa loss

isner/rochus = john should win but he could easily lose it.

harrison/giraldo= santi can beat him.

roddick/klizan= you would hope andy can win this and salvage the poll.

C. Neither.

He's like Agassi on the return, he rips a big ball but against the bigger/faster servers he doesn't have the hands of a Fed or even Murray.

Nadal has the same problem.
