Cancellara has the road race on the next day in the morning so maybe that was a factor. I know Roger did say he'd love to see Stan with the flag.
When you say was no one running, how many other athletes have won gold for Switzerland at the Olympics?

Yes, Roger was the first choice but he said that another athlete should be given the opportunity and that he would be happy if Stan got the chance.
