Atlanta R1: Anderson def. Lorenzi 6/4 6/3
Nice start of a hardcourt season for Kevin.
He plays Russell/qualifier in R2.
Lorenzi has 3W/10L since Sarasota CH final. I don't think playing this tournament was a good decision

He makes money here, first round cheque and now has played 11 MD tournaments this year, so that's a big deal for his retirement.

Lets see if Anderson can break through some more during this hard court season. He has been making steady progress. He needs to start going deeper in the slams. I know Kevin btw.

Do you know if he will be playing Davis Cup for South Africa against Canada?

Hmm not sure. Is he a US citizen already? Does that mean he won't be playing DC for SA anymore? Lotsa questions here.

The draw still says RSA so I thin maybe he can still play.

Ok but I'm not sure he is a US citizen yet. Not sure how long it takes.

My understanding is that he will make himself available for South African DC ties once he has his dual-citizenship. IIrc he can't represent another country in an official capacity while trying to gain US citizenship.

He can become a US citizen three years after receiving his green card, which means 2015. Mine is 2017 (five years from when I got my green card), as he is married to a US citizen.
