Before the usual trolls come in and whine. This thread is only about the match and the tournament, so none of this stuff mentioning other players that aren't involved in this match.

Re: Båstad F : Ferrer def. Alamgro 6-2 6-2
Ferrer picks up a scent on the wind, descends to discover the decaying body of tennis. He plucks his fifth title of the year from its gaping ribcage! The carcass that keeps on giving.
Fifth title puts him joint tour leader with Fed and gives him a positive W/L finals record once again

Ferrer is just too solid for Alfagro.
How can you not like Ferrer either? He never gonna win a slam but to say he has no real weapons on court he's won a ton of matches!

So he did say that. I swear they have their own ranking system by which lower ranked player has to lose to the better ranked player and then get in his ass

It is not like Ferrer has overachieved (because I know that can spawn haters), so that's not it. Neither is the guy arrogant or even loud - he's one of the most silent and humble guys on the tour.
I do understand how you can dislike his game though (even if he is not nearly as defensive as these guys are saying). I myself am no fan of for example Simon's game. But the thing is, Gilles seems like a nice guy so I still bear no real hate for him. And I dislike Nadal but I still respect him. (I find Roddick a pain as well but in my defense his attitude is awful.)
Yet Ferrer has haters because he is a "vulture". Yes he likes playing small tournaments where he has a real shot to win, are you telling me you wouldn't if you were in his shoes? Get real already. It's not like he doesn't live up to his ranking in the slams either - QF, SF & QF is his results there this year.
And so, my conclusion:
The only reason why you would make this much noise against David Ferrer is spelled like this:
"attention whoring".
Incidentally MTF trolls' favorite pastime. Boring and infantile stuff.

The ATP were alerted to Ferrer's incessant vulture like tendencies from Tyson and Mark Lenders. They have now limited Ferrer to 25 points for any tournament win. 50 points for slam win though.

Players can count 4 500s and 2 250s tournament in last 52 weeks but if 250s results are better, they can count 4.
Well Ferru played two 500s final and took three 250s title and his 6th results the Davis Cup, he got 225 points there. Ferru can't add 7th tournament, only repair the previous ones.

Well I guess that's a good rule. Keeps vultures from stealing easy 250 points every time they win a 250 tournament.

It's the classic Coyote when Almagro has had match points against Ferrer 3 times, but didn't get him.
