Last final without any of them was Safin - Hewitt in AO 2005. That's 7½ years ago. So yes. The streak will eventually end, though, but perhaps not for a while yet.... |

After a nervous first set,
it was a good (in times sensational) match from Federer.
The 2nd set could have gone either way.
The 3rd and 4th set under the roof were nearly perfect from Federer.
Great tournament,
another Grand Slam since AO 2010.
And back to No.1, which is a bit of a surprise.
Federer beat Djokovic and Murray, the 1 and 4 of the game
and is still the best player out there on faster surfaces.

I see him win a last US Open, he was really close (and a little bit unlucky) these three past years, he deserved this 6th. Maybe this year? In 2013 it will be hard to stay hungry.

It is sad for Murray to achiieve 4th Grand Slam runner-up.
