Re: Frank Dancevic
Certainly good news! But fit as in fit to start the match. Or fit as in fit to play a three set match and another one the next day?

Re: Frank Dancevic
If he's actually 100 % this time I think he wins, if he's almost fit it's 50/50, if he's not then easy loss. We won't know for sure until he plays

Re: Frank Dancevic
Dudi on grass is not the worst of draws. That said Frank hasn't played much lately so tough to say. If he's on his game though he should win

Re: Frank Dancevic
I officially declare Frank not fit enough to play yet.
This just sucks for him, being injured during the season that suits him the best
I hope once this is done he realizes that he's not healthy, and coming back because a surface suits you is no good, don't come back until you're healthy

I don't think he has come back early because the surface suits him, but because he got direct entry into tournaments where he could pick up a cheque for a 1st round loss. I can see his point of view - he'd earned his way into the tournaments, and he hasn't had the opportunity to make any money while he's been injured. He'll pick up $3,870 for losing 1st round here.

Re: Frank Dancevic
i really dont know hoiw anyone could defend him anymore..even from a getting the paychecks perspective what if he's just simply delaying his full recovery by showing up and playing a match?
he needs to stop playing and get fit..and if he is fit this is just embarrassing

Re: Frank Dancevic
But see he is working himself up to fitness. 1st match back he won 0 games, 2nd 1 game and now he has won 2 games. So he is getting better and better.

Frank has not been known for his smart strategic choices. I did hope that with age and maturity things might change in that department, but I haven't seen too many signs of it yet...
So he does what he does.

Re: Frank Dancevic
I think Frank should take the year off and recuperate for next season. Give the Rogers Cup wc to someone else like Chvojka or PLD or high profile non Canadian.

Re: Frank Dancevic
I think he's in denial. He knows that grass is his best surface, and he doesn't want to believe that he's really too injured to play, he wants to think that he can still compete because he's good on grass, he doesn't want to go the entire grass season without winning, and getting anything out of it.
I understand playing RG, that was for the check, but here he's not getting that much money, I think it was more about being in denail than money.
At least this time next year he won't have anything to defend on grass so he can gain

Re: Frank Dancevic
i agree and i think it must be so frustrating for him the way the grass season has gone. I think that he was doing so well for a time there that it looked like top 100 again was only a matter of time, certainly possible that he'd be there by the end of the year
that might also be why he's still playing, because he still wants to try and get back there by the end of the year
