Re: Tsonga Dance
I prefer it to Petkovic's, it's less contrived I think

Re: Tsonga Dance
I think he does it because he is supersticious and sees it as a good omen, something for luck. You can see it on his face after some routine wins: "Ok, I must do it, now go".

Re: Tsonga Dance
butt picking is not looking nice, but he is itcy and the pants too tight so he is in need of this, no bad intention
while this dance looks disrespectful to opponents (may be he did not have this intention but it looks like it)

Re: Tsonga Dance
I think it is one of the most in your face things in tennis. The only thing that's worse is the chest beating of Monfils and Djokovic.

Re: Tsonga Dance
He will injure himself one day just by doing that.

Re: Tsonga Dance
I hated his dance ever since he did it in full view of Juan Carlos Ferrero. I thought he was trying to rub it in to him.

It's the greatest thing ever in the history of the world.
Seriously, Jo is awesome, and so is his celebration dance.

Re: Tsonga Dance
Does he do it at every match?
It was fun seeing him do it live after beating Berdych at the WTF, but it annoys me to see him do it every time, even after matches of lesser importance.

Re: Tsonga Dance
Yes he does so in (nearly) every match of his that he's managed to win.
I can understand why a lot of folks think it's obnoxious, but I can even more understand the need of a player to express his joy about a victory. So I don't mind it at all.
I don't believe there's any 'bad intention' along with it, he just shows his happiness.
Should he do it against an obviously injured player, well in such case, it might be over the top, but so far I haven't noticed that as of yet.
