Number three: Is he really good enough to win any more grand slams. Most of the matches I've seen him play have been pretty bad quality and he's been far from great in each.

this has to be one of the most epic fail post coming from you

Let's hope Murray retires soon so Nole can get the Career Slam then, it will be impossible while the Scot is around.

Well, of course he can! If can do it as soon as next year. Roger did it during a Rafaless FO. Can't see why Novak can't do the same.

Depends how long he stays at the top for. Nadal and Federer managed to stay up there for an amazingly long length of time, but that kind of consistency is very rare (Borg, Laver, and Sampras are the only others that immediately come to mind). If the decline in form from last year continues, I honestly don't see him winning too many more slams.

His slam achievements, when all is said and done, I believe will be comparable to Wilander's; one hugely dominant year, and two or three others where he wins a slam and makes a slam final, but not the all out continued dominance of a Federer or Sampras.

Well you don't know that, it's a very personal assumption, almost like you're hopeful it will happen.

Yes, it is obvious now.

The so-called second coming of Djokovic in 2011, gluten-free, Nole 2.0, whatever, negated many of the posters' 2010 arguments in this thread regarding certain physical limitations.

It seems to many that it is now there for the taking considering his form relative to the other chief contenders at the moment.

The question is will he take it? He, his team and his fans certainly hope so. But the pressure is not trivial. Pressure and nerves can do awful things to athletes and people in general, causing them to under-perform, even make them sick.

He has had his chances. His window of opportunity to win at Roland Garros may last for awhile, or may not. It is not only dependent on him.

Things can change fast in tennis. We don't know when or how, they just do.

What one can do is wish him health and good fortune in his attempt to complete this notable quest, and in fairness, likewise to the other participants, who each have their own dreams as well.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Since it's a mountain never to have been climbed by any of the great tennis players in the past (Laver Slam was another thing, 3 grass tournaments), it is a feat of great talent, physical form and luck.

Hahah, who is this guy? he thinks it´d be easier taking RG from Rafa than Wimbledon..

Not a question of if, but how soon?
Then we can start talking about a double. (only been done by WTA players in the Open Era).
