Future Texas A&M college teammates are going at it! Krueger vs Ward-Hibbert.
Strange that the article says Evan Hoyt and Kyle Edmund were to compete but the schedule says Bambridge and Ashley instead. Hopefully, Edmund isn't injured. It would have made all four matches exceptional if he were playing instead of Ashley.
My Predictions:
Broady def Rubin in two close sets. Gets his revenge
Babridge def Papa in three. I think the surface gives him the advantage.
Krueger def Ward-Hibbert in two routine sets. Krueger's just the better singles player. I think they would make an extraordinary doubles team in college, if they're put together.
McDonald def Ashley pretty easily. This would be like if Henrik Wiersholm were to go up against Kyle Edmund. I just don't expect Ashley to keep up. Not that it's impossible though.

^ So a 2-2 record, I would take it . I would be happy if Papa can get a set; usually with him, it is either easy wins or easy losses. His baseline game seems more suited for clay and he is really kinda pathetic on fast surface. I also think Rubin will lose as well. Not familiar with Ward-Hibbert's or Ashley's game so no comments.

Rubin and Papa are a set up in their respective match. Must be windy on court 4 b/c both Papa and Bambridge are struggling with their serve (1st serve % in the 40s).

It looks like they are not going to play a full third set, tiebreak to decide the match.

Okay nevermind, they are going to play a full third set (the scoreboard changes).

Rain .
Broady serving for the match at *5-2, Papa serving to stay in the 2nd set @ *5-6.

Re: 1994-1996 : Rubin, Kwiatkowski, Halebian, Papa, Corinteli, McDonald, Donaldson,
Broady def. Rubin 46 63 62
Expected, no shame in losing to the Junior Wimbledon Finalist.
Papa def. Bambridge 64 76(8)
Papa was down a break in the 2nd set and saved a setpoint in the tiebreak. Surprising win considering the surface, but maybe the familiarity with Bambridge's game helped (1-1 head to head prior to this match).

GB take on USA in LTA Junior Challenge Trophy
Today, some of Britain’s brightest young tennis players will be shining here at Devonshire Park, as they take on their American counterparts in a special challenge match.
Britain’s under 18 team will feature Luke Bambridge, Liam Broady, Joshua Ward-Hibbert, Peter Ashley and Kyle Edmund. The LTA Junior Challenge Trophy will give you the chance to see the next generation of tennis stars up close amid a backdrop of world class tennis.
“We can’t wait to get out on court,” said Bambridge, who is based at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton. “There’s a good vibe in the team and we just want to go out there and do our best to beat the American team.”

The other two matches are suspended due to rain. No action pictures of Papa .

Re: 1994-1996 : Rubin, Kwiatkowski, Halebian, Papa, Corinteli, McDonald, Donaldson,
Great win for Papa. Both players have had an excellent year so far. Bambridge even made a futures semifinal in April.
I'm also very proud of Rubin's performance. He's probably the American Junior I root for the most.
http://www.atpworldtour.com/Scores/s...ear=2012&Seq=7 Tomorrow's schedule:
Joshua Ward Hibbert (GBR) vs Mitchell Krueger (USA)
Liam Broady (GBR) vs Mitchell Krueger (USA)
Joshua Ward Hibbert (GBR) vs Noah Rubin (USA)
Peter Ashley (GBR) vs Mackenzie McDonald (USA)
Luke Bambridge (GBR) vs Mackenzie McDonald (USA)
Peter Ashley (GBR) vs Spencer Papa (USA)
(Sapelee, do you think they're going to keep playing so that eventually everyone plays everyone, or is it going to end after this?)
I would make more predictions but I think it'd come off as too biased. Should be some more excellent matches though. I hope someone out there is recording videos of them playing!

Re: 1994-1996 : Rubin, Kwiatkowski, Halebian, Papa, Corinteli, McDonald, Donaldson,
OMG, the scheduling is so unfair
I doubt everyone will get to play everyone since it is supposed to be only a two-day event. Looking at the schedule, it looks like there are two round-robin groups (based on Junior ITF Ranking):
Group 1
No.1 Singles Players (Broady, Krueger)
No.2 Singles Players (Ward Hibbert, Rubin)
Group 2
No.3 Singles Players (Bambridge, McDonald)
No.4 Singles Players (Ashley, Papa)

Very observant. I noticed the round robin format but not that it was based on ranking.
Looking at the last couple of years, they might play a third day of doubles matches.

You may be right, but most of the articles mentioned the event being from June 21 to June 22. Doubles matches were supposed to be played today after the singles, but got cancelled. I assume that Halebian and Edmund are supposed to play doubles since there are five members in each team.

Didn't get to play my match today in Eastbourne but did manage to take some money from Roddick and Brooklyn Decker in cards. Successful day!

13 yo Papa with his family. He is taller than both of his parents, maybe there is still hope for Wiersholm and Kozlov.
