At EASTBOURNE, an ATP250 event, Marinko is into the 2nd round after a solid 46 61 64 win over Brit James Ward. A good win as Ward is pretty handy on grass, getting to the semis at Queens in 2011. 
A tough assignment awaits MMM in the next round - the No.1 seed Richard Gasquet.

Great win! Was able to catch the first two sets. I've only seen Marinko play a few times but this was definitely the best tennis I've seen from him.

Unfortunately the weather turned bad for MMM. Not being able to get on court on Thursday, the QF match against Darcis was postponed to Friday due to rain, then the wind blew poor Maronko's big serve and hitting game out of the court. Darcis took advantage and won the 1st set 62 and then came back from 3-5 down to win the 2nd in a tie-break (7-4). MMM served for the second set but was unable to convert, which must have frustrated the hell out of him.
The saving grace is that he did not have to play two matches that day and will have two days off before tackling the hallowed grass at Wimbledon. What a buzz that will be for him. Awe-frickin-some.
Let's hope he can bring some magic and beat the Belgium Malisse.
