I for one think it's pretty impressive to be roughly as good as a 12 year old Gasquet.

I'm not sure that was more fuel but you have a very positive attitude, so keep going anyways!

I consider pretty depressing but also amusing that a guy expecting to make tennis his job and break through ATP tour wouldn't be able to win "Les Petits As" at 22 years old.

Well the new rankings will come out in early June, the USTA does it once per month.
The guy I beat in the 1st round was ranked #37 in the state of Florida in the 4.5's, and I'm pretty by making the SF, I am going to gain 50 points and jump from 152 in the state in the 4.5's to #95 or so in the state
By contrast, I am ranked #549 in the state in the Men's Opens, the true ranking, really. A bit of perspective, the #1 in the state in the Men's Open is Matt Bocko, former #400 ATP in 2010, #9 in the state is Joe Cadogan, ranked 1351 ATP currently, and most of the other top 10-20 in the state either currently or formerly have had rank or are playing futures.
So its a long way to go

Re: My tennis career, back from the dead, won 2 rounds, into my first ever semifinal
I was getting all hyped up reading this thread, all the talk about top 100 and playing Futures, kinda anticlimactic to discover you're only a 4.5

Re: My tennis career, back from the dead, won 2 rounds, into my first ever semifinal
I don't mind Groove keep us in touch with his latest results (a bit an attention-whorism attitud however) but the word career in the thread title is a lie. You have no career, replace it by hobby, leisure time activity, adventure or something like that. You are lying to us and to yourself and that's not a good thing. I hope you won't take my post as an offense, it is not.
