Made a bit unhealthy stuff last night but it was GOOD . Deep fried onion rings with chili mayo! Had some chicken on the side as well.

My meal last night when I got home drunk from going out
Nothing beats this;
White rice, chicken fillet pieces in Ketjap Manis (soya) sauce and Krupuk with it

Eating so much . I can't believe I'm seeing six siu mai's on a stick

I didn't know you knew more than one language I was always horrendous with intonation based languages like mandarin and especially cantonese. I speak Japanese semi fluently, but my kanji knowledge is shit, maybe limited to 200-250 characters (you need to know 1945 to be considered fluent )

Re: Food thread
Yeah well that's the problem of having a Cantonese background . I can speak Cantonese relatively okay, but what you get in return - horrible, horrible parents. One can't imagine the hell I go through each day, seriously . Come to think of it, we're in Australia, so I kind of don't even need Cantonese all that much.
Japanese is way too hard for me. How the fuck a person can speak it fluently is beyond me. I heard about that yeah, about approximately two thousand characters to be fluent. Hell I didn't even know more than 30 when I was doing it as a subject at school, and now I've forgotten all of it. If only every language is as easy as English

By living there a couple of years
Anyway, it's not as difficult as it looks, unless you mean keigo, which even some natives struggle with, me I would use standard polite speech which is more than enough The pronounciation is actually easier than english and grammar isn't as wonky either especially when it comes to tenses (only have present and past in japanese). Conjugations take some time to get used to, but no big deal. The biggest thing is kanji, you are lulled into false sense of security when learning kana, but if you' re lazy like me learning all the characters is a pain. Like I said I can hold a casual conversation reasonably well, but make me read a newspaper and I am helpless, unless it comes with furigana, which only children's books do.
