Re: Who's Better - Tsonga or Ferrer?
Tsonga certainly has the higher ceiling of play, but Ferrer is way more consistent and loads more mentally tough.

This. Berdych, Tsonga and Soderling are far above Ferrer by any objective measure. All have achieved far more despite being far younger.
The mre fact this thread exists shows how overrated Ferrer is.

Ferrer is more consistent, but while Ferrer has a bit more fight Tsonga is infinitely less of a choker

Re: Who's Better - Tsonga or Ferrer?
Tsonga by a distance. I admire Ferrer's constancy but Tsonga has weapon's to punish anyone when he's on form, while Ferrer falls short mostly.

I understand that people may think that Tsonga is better,
but the overall comments about Ferrer, that he's just "consistent", never loses to mugs, never bothers top-players,
rather show imo that he's underrated indeed : people just don't notice him
I saw some comments by all of the players of the top-4 who spoke in very high terms of Ferrer and knew the danger. When Djokovic played him in Miami QF he raised his level considerably, which shows that he did fear him indeed, as he said.

Re: Who's Better - Tsonga or Ferrer?
Wish their head 2 head record would shine some light on who the better player is but like this poll they're even (1-1). Guess it just comes down to what each individual values more. Consistency or several huge breakout moments of very high level tennis. I voted for Tsonga impulsively, i think after reading some post and properly gathering my thoughts i'd say Ferrer.

Re: Who's Better - Tsonga or Ferrer?
My god...this is ridiculous. Ferrer is better - no contest!
Players like Ferrer and Delpo are just the real deal. Tsonga isn't, despite the fact that he can be awesome sometimes.

Re: Who's Better - Tsonga or Ferrer?
LOL at people saying Ferrer based on consistency. All Tsonga has to do is live up to his seeding in Madrid next week and he will suddenly have more ranking points than Ferrer had at any point of his career. Consistency my backside.

Ferrer. His game is just more aesthetically pleasing.

Re: Who's Better - Tsonga or Ferrer?
This poll is partly about what kind of tennis people like, as it is usually with these things.
No result is determinative between these two and to pretend otherwise is a bit silly.
Tsonga seems to have an extra gear at times but how that makes him better when he has more very bad losses is just a question of what one prefers.

No. Ferrer has nothing over Tsonga.
Not even consistency. The myth that Ferrer is more consistent than Tsonga is, well, a myth. All it takes is for Tsonga to live up to his seeding in Madrid and he will have more ranking points than Ferrer ever had at any point of his career, meaning a more consistent year than Ferrer ever had.

Mark, it is very hard to make a case that Ferrer loses to the players he is supposed to beat more often than Tsonga does over the course of their best years.
Are you actually saying this? If so, I invite you to use the search function at the ATP site and see the losses Tsonga has had and compare them to Ferrer's.
