Filip Veger
This guy deserved his thread away earlier. He is one of the best croatians prospects. I would say the best one after Borna Coric. He was runner up at AO doubles recently and now he is climbing well in pro's.
So, he is in quaters of Zagreb Futures. First time and from qualies! He is on 5 sets winning strike (10 sets winning stike after he lost 1st set in 1st match). Filip had 3 really good wins in last 3 matches: first 3 & 2 vs Mesaros, than 6 & 1 vs Marie and last one 1 & 0 vs George Morgan. Today he will play Czech Jan Minar (384; 3 years ago he was in mid '100). If he win this match he will be 884th and one of the best of his generation.

Filip broke in top 1000 for first time in his career!
Bravo!
He won his first round match in straights vs Marin Franjicevic in Vrsar.

Re: Filip Veger
Uzbekistan F1 Futures ($15K)
QR1: Filip VEGER (CRO) [2] 6-7(5) 6-3 6-1 Sanjar FAYZIEV (UZB)
QR2: Filip VEGER (CRO) [2] 6-3 6-1 Akmal ISAKOV (UZB)
R1: Filip VEGER (CRO) 6-0 6-0 Sergey SHIPILOV (UZB)
R2: Filip VEGER (CRO) 6-3 4-6 4-1 Retired Siarhei BETAU (BLR) [8]
Unfortunately he plays Ignatik in the QF
Nevertheless, a very good tournament for Filip!

Re: Filip Veger
Actually with this result he will be top 1000 (around #913).
He plays on 2nd Futures in Uzbekistan. He is 1st seed in qualies. He won his 1st match easily, now he will play vs another Uzbek who is also his generation like the other one. This guy doesn't have ranking (like the other one, too) so Filip should win (if he is not too tired).

He has 7 points on this list. They will add him 3 new points for Uzbekistan F1 (he made quaters of $ 15 000) and next Monday another one for 2nd round of Uzbekistan F2.
So for 10 days he will be around 898th place. Thats mean only that japanese's boy Nishioka will be infront of him.
He will be 9th from players of that 2 generations, but actually only Miki Jankovic is born close to him (3 months older) and he has only one point more.
And he just startied to plays really well in last 6 months, he is on, so he will surpass alot of them. I really like his progress.
I expect he will become top 100. And he will be that atleast.

Re: Filip Veger
Filip broke into top 1000 for the first time last week. He is 11th among his and 1995 generation (only one player of 1995 generation is ahead of him). Actually that is the only younger player infront of him.
He will play on two bosnian's Futures in next two week. He can gain few points there too. He is directly in MD of first one while he is 4th under the line in the 2nd one.

Re: Filip Veger
Today in Roland Garros QR1, Filip destroyed the top seed, Ismailov (#28), 63 61
In the second, and final, round he plays a local WC, for a spot in the MD. Good luck, Filipe!

Re: Filip Veger
Filip is playing against Pedja Krstin (SRB) in R1 of Roland Garros. If he wins, he'd play against Quentyn Halys (FRA) in R2.

Re: Filip Veger
Filip picked up another ranking point this week, at France F17. Unfortunately in R2 he drew the top seed, Gicquel, who used to be top 40. Filip kept it pretty close, losing 46 67(3).
Next week he'll move up to a new CH ranking of around 865 (currently 887).
