How do I stop hitting backhands down the line?
I changed to a one handed backhand because, to me, it felt better on high balls (I use a semiwestern one-handed backhand grip, and a modern swing path sometimes without meaning to, end up doing a reverse follow through backhand), but when pushed very wide to the backhand, and very high, I always hit it down the line because I can't bend the wrist enough to hook it cross-court...
Down the line is obviously the least expected passing shot, so I hit a few winners this way without meaning to. However, I miss the shot a lot, obviously, otherwise I would be a pro. I never hit the net because I give extreme net clearance on all my shots, but I often go too wide.
I know it's easier to hit cross-court when you're early on the ball, but that's not always possible, so is there some technique change I should be doing to get the ball back cross-court? Grip change for those wide, high balls? Or other change in swing path? I don't want to resort to slicing!!
