Re: Week 14: Tallahassee (Entry List)
Ito d. Peers 64 16 75
Tatsuma saved bp's at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3 in the final set. It wasn't a very convincing win, but at least he's through. Peers won six more points overall in the match.

Re: Week 14: Tallahassee (Entry List)
Again tough 1st round match for Ito versus weak player that he's won. Exactly like vs Panfil in Rimouski

Re: Week 14: Tallahassee (Entry List)
Brian Baker/Strode needs to take Ito out in the next round for sure.

Re: Week 14: Tallahassee (Entry List)
Ito will bounce back stronger? He sucks outside of Asia
In Rimouski, he didn't really bounce back at all. He had an easy draw then choked vs Authom in the SF. So given that event wasn't in Asia, I think that's a good example of what will happen to him at his event.
I actually like Ito, but I'm realistic when it comes to him, also now that he's removed from the top 100 with his points from winning the Recife points dropping, I want him to lose early so favorites jump ahead of him. I love Nishikori. But Sugita and Soeda bore me with their blah games, and Soeda is a joke, I won't get into the reasons here.

Re: Week 14: Tallahassee (Entry List)
The highest ranked player Ito faced in Recife was #170, Giovanni Lapentti, who had a bad/injury plagued 2011. Color me unimpressed. Starace is 0-7 in Australia for his career and has I believe two wins overall in GS events off clay, so that's not an impressive win, it's a must-win. Ito does not win outside of Asia on any consistent basis, and that's the reality.
Lu plays outside of Asia, wins outside of Asia, and has a significantly better game than Ito. There is a reason he's beaten top 10 players and been top 100 for over half a decade.

Re: Week 14: Tallahassee (Entry List)
Awesome to see Daniel take advantage of his LL position and win his R1 match! Too bad Tennys didn't win, though. At least we got one young American through
