Re: A very warm welcome to the newest top 10 player: John Isner
Good for John, he's a nice guy and works hard, not the typical jerk jock like Roddick or Harrison

Re: A very warm welcome to the newest top 10 player: John Isner
Very hard worker and likeable individual so he deserves this achievement. His game when he first came on tour, club grounstrokes and world class serve. Now his forehand is a good shot which he can use to take advantage off the short replies generated from his serve.
As for his game what do people expect. He has the speed of Usain Bolt, the graceful movement of Federer, the determination of Nadal, radar consistency of Djokovic, the variation of Dolgopolov and volleys like Edberg.
He is a smart player and sound temperament, it's hard to get to his backhand which is the weaker side. Has good hands at the net and he isn't a clay clown at all.

What? Del Potro is out of the top 10 not Tipsy. Learn to look at an image?

Completely deserved for the big man. Took his time before turning pro, got the education and now all the hard work and dedication to the sport is paying dividends. Genuine nice guy off the court as well, hope he can solidify his spot in the top ten throughout the year and beyond.

I dont see him being top 10 as any better than almagro, fish or tipsarevic being top 10 to be honest

Re: A very warm welcome to the newest top 10 player: John Isner
Isner is the tallest (and maybe heaviest) top10 player ever i reckon? Anyway I think he's showing a path for the future here where big giants can become an antidote to the defensive grinders. Slow courts actually benefits giants. They get more time for their swings and movement which doesn't make them useless in the return game and in baseline rallies. Still the power and strength allows them to hit through the court. The serve and especially the 2nd serve are still prime weapons, especially when the bounce is high. A guy like Isner really can get wicked kick in his serves turning them almost unreturnable.
I really look forward the potential damage he could do during clay season. Who knows with a better draw than last time maybe he could go deep in RG too.
