Default Mons Challenger - Greenset Surface

Calling it GrandPirx -- wrong

http://www.ethiastrophy.be/fr/galeri...y-2011-montage

This is a temporary cout as you can see. Greenset MTC will use Greenset GrandPrix acrylic as top coatings over thier Mobile Tournament Court boards , but its erroneous to call it Grand Prix. Only the permanent Greenset courts are Grand Prix.

Also, if you look at this gallery , it looks like a PVC Carpet , not boards being painted over. In fact, no where in the Gallery do you see the paint being applied.

There have been some innovations lately with a much slower type of PVC foam used for a new brand of carpets , like the new one used this year at WTA Quebec City. Greenset , not surprisingly , may already be on board with this.

If this really is Carpet and it plays this slow - then we may be seeing a lot more of this in the near future as Carpet is a lot easier to install than paint surfaces - even boards.

it seems all carpet from the pics of it being set up and the way it looks and sounds on video. BUT.... it plays so much slower than a regular carpet of old .and the Tretorn ball is a fast ball.

I can only figure, for now , that the new type of pvc thats much more cushion oriented and deadens the ball more than the carpets of old.

I've never seen sport surfaces like that before. It looks like an usual carpet court. I wonder what the speed of play is like.

It was actually a foam rubber mat with acrylic paint on top. Depending on how many layers of Acrlic and the sanding of the acrylic is the speed. Mons played about as slow as you will see indoors. A lot of humid, slow air inside which effected the tretorn ball , plus the surface seemed very slow
