It is interesting that at first Egyptian tennis federation decided to choose another venue for this tie

Venue: Gezerat ElWard Club
Location: El Mansoura, Egypt

but then it was switched to Cairo.

maybe this change has to do with the political instability in the country

Gulbis is playing this for sure?

It was supposedly in Mansoura because Safwat is from there and he wanted so, but everyone was against it because no one was going to go and support the Egyptian team + some security reasons as the courts in Mansoura aren't really suitable for that. They'll play on the same court Henin and Petrova played on

As for Gulbis, Latvian sports media reports his next tournaments will be DC and then USA series

I had a friend ask him in Doha and he said he's probably coming.
Would love to see him playing live though it will reduce Egypt's chances of a win
