Then yesterday and today, the endless previewing of Tomic's match, and how he too is going to be some kind of GOAT. We get it, Tomic is going to play in Kooyong today against Tomas Berdych. You don't have to say it 100000000 times.

Piss off. This is Australia and it's Australian tournaments and an Australian broadcast. They have every right to promote promising Australians, and it will likely make more Australians take note. It's exciting for Australians and that's all that matters. Stop being a spoil sport knob. If you don't like it watch something else.

Stosur is a GS champ after all and Tomic is a somewhat promising player...

Wtf? I thought Tomic was a mug? What the hell is this promising player business? Surely you aren't backing away from your statements?

Re: Aussies - is anyone else sick of the endless Stosur and Tomic hype?
it's natural that they'd focus on them - Tomic's run in Wimbledon and Sam's 2011 preformance do warrant attention - Swiss TV focuses Roger/British on Andy - French on Tsonga / Monfils...etc

What do you expect? Both players had excellent success at slam level last year. Its better than the media hyping up Hewitt on one leg just so he can lose an epic 5 setter in the first round.

Stosur is #6 in the world while Bernie boy is just #37. I love the kid but he needs first to beat someone from top 4 at AO this year and than bring up that fucking hype. Any hype before that just saying that australian tennis really sucks when you compare what they have been earlier.

Nothing wrong with the Tomic hype though.

Never produces? Didn't she just win the last grandslam...? Otoh, Tomic hype is fine even when he has not won a grandslam yet or has even reached a GS final? I don't understand this reasoning. Double standards.
WTA may be crap but it's not like Stosur beat some unknown at the USO final, she beat Serena fucking Williams. That's an achievement and of course she's going into her next grandslam tournament with a huge amount of hype considering she just won the last one.

Just 3 weeks of hype anyway. Sam won a slam at least.

Nothing wrong with a bit of patriotism, happens everywhere. US networks show Serena repeats on delay over live tennis, Wimbledon organisers favour Murray by putting him on the roofed Centre every match and the French crowds get hostile against foreign opponents.
