Re: Week 46: Montevideo (Entry List)
SF order of play: Machi Gonzalez vs Leo Mayer and Berlocq vs Giannessi.
Another great SF line up after Buenos Aires. I`m just wondering if Berlocq would have energy enough to face this SF match after winning single and doubles titles last week and after playing two long matches this week with Cervenak and Bagnis last night. If Mayer wins the title here he might jump close to the top 65 which would be great considering that a couple of months ago he was behind the top 200 rankings.
On the other hand I remember that a couple of months ago some people on this forum where wondering why european players didn`t face these tournaments in South America alledging that the quality of the main entry lists were poor. On the contrary I believe that the quality of the line ups and cut off of the main draw lists were not bad at all and in some cases like the ones of Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Sao Leopoldo, Buenos Aires and Montevideo were really good. Many good players like Machado, Pospisil, Odesnik, Prodon and Gil for instance and other uprising ones like Giannessi and Kuznetsov were unable even to reach the finals of any tournament of this Latin American swing that started in Quito (except of Munoz de la Nava in Quito).
