He is OUT from the qualifying list in Valencia, also OUT from Paris and not on the qualifying entry list there. His name is only in the main entry list for Valencia, where he is around 10th alternate

That's great - I agree he's on the right track. 2012 should be a good year for him. Definitely no shame in losing to Raonic indoors. He's been reaching the second and third rounds of tournaments - that's good news. Wish he'd play in my hometown, Vienna

He will not play there for sure He will come to Bulgaria next week After that he will probably go train for the next season, but I hope he will play some more this year We will see - I'm going to post here if he says something interesting at the press conference next week

I thought you're american. Anyway, that would be awesome. I was planning to go there since I live in Budapest and Vienna is only 3 hours drive from here, but not having the money for it right now. Delpo plays there too.

Thanks.
Hopefully he will play one more tournament, otherwise he will finish around 75 ranked.

Re: Post US Open Season 2011
Not playing for the rest of the year could be a smart move as long as he uses the time wisely. It will give him the opportunity to work on his game, improve his strength & fitness and recharge his batteries so he starts 2012 in the best possible way. Playing more tournaments this year might help his ranking but taking some time off and working hard will make him a better player.

Re: Post US Open Season 2011
I think he finished 2010 ranked 106.
2011 hasn't been a bad year in my opinion, although it could have been better. Hopefully will finish rather inside top 75.
He needs a good draw at AO, not many points to defend there. It's true for almost the next whole year: he does not have to defend too many points.

Yeah - I grew up in Vienna right next to the 'Wiener Stadthalle' where the tournament takes place; back when it was called the CA Tennis Trophy I used to see the early round matches every year. Then my whole family moved to the US and that's about it. Unfortunately never made it to Budapest although I've heard it's a beautiful city as well. RHE

Thanks for the interview, good one.
I was sure he will play Valencia so the news caught me off guard. Looking forward to his next season.
