No chance for Chiudinelli.
He lost to Stepanek in Tokyo like 2010!
In 2010, Stepanek won 57 76 41- ret. (very similar result)

Chiudinelli was in Round 2 in 2010 as well.

But he will win some points, because he was a Qualifier this year.
20 Points for Qualifying, 45 Points for Round 2, Minus 45 Points from 2010.
So, therefore he will win 20 Points.

Lousy behaviour from the tournament in my view - you can't announce them and then just take them back to offer it to a high ranked player.

I think that too.

I don't know if this is a rule or if they choose Chiudinelli (instead of Nishikori and Young) to lose his wildcard.

Poor Marco, lost the WC and then lost the qualies, the tournament shouldnt have done this.

I'm so sorry for him, Basel tournament means a lot to him...

At least, he is at doubles with Stephane Bohli!!
I hope he's feeling ok, he havent updated his website since he was in Seoul.
Come on Marco!!!

Chiudinelli said afterwards that this was one of his 10 sadest/ worst losses of his career.

I don't know how they both played and I don't know If Marco had a matchpoint.

(Bad situation, I think he knew that he will play today only today)
