Re: Bonnie the Cat's, formerly know as Stupid Dream - PROG ROCK thread!
Another major favourite of mine:
"Yes and every bloody emperor's got his hands up history's skirt
As he poses for posterity over the fresh-dug dirt.
Yes and every bloody emperor with his sickly rictus grin
Talks his way out of nearly anything but the lie within
Because every bloody emperor thinks his right to rule divine
So he'll go spinning and spinning and spinning into his own decline.
Imperceptible the change as one by one our voices falter
And the double standards of propaganda
Still all our righteous rage.
By this we are all sustained: our belief in human nature.
But our faith diminishes - close to the finish,
We're only serfs and slaves
As the empire decays..."

A true classic, whether you appreciate doom/prog metal or not (I do )
The lovely Mrs. Anneke van Giersbergen and her Gathering.
She's a singing teacher at the Amsterdam conservatory nowadays, but whenever any a proper band calls her to make a contribution... she's there.
Oh damn, that's 15 - oops, 20! - years ago -which reminds me that Time Flies. indeed.

How was it?
I understand the reviews on Heritage are 'mixed', but I myself consider it an awesome work of genuine, classic progrock.
YOU LUCKY BAZTARD Part #2!!!!
Yep, awesome musicians.
Hi there...I had passes too actually
I actually like Heritage a lot more than most of their stuff and like the direction they have taken. I like their prog/classic side much more and they did a tribute song to classic Rainbow, an old favorite of mine so thumbs up from me
Henderson and Berlin were simply fantastic!
Next up here:
Pat Metheny, Dream Theater, Steve Wilson, John Scofield and a few others I may check out include Hiromi and Queensryche if the mood hits

Re: Bonnie the Cat's, formerly know as Stupid Dream - PROG ROCK thread!
A very much underrated 1980's British semi-prog rock band, with a fantastic singer - Ph.D.
Unfortunately singer Jim Diamond chose to follow the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$-route soon thereafter... with the expected results.
US AOR-band Tesla scored a BIG hit with this song a couple of years later.
But eh, credits to those who deserve 'ehm, no?
That same band was responsible for this:
Whatever happened to singer Jim Diamond thereafer, I dunno. Selling one's soul to the god of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (un)fortunately doesn't always pays off in the long run....
Considering that this was in the 1980's, pretty good proggie attempt.

GOD! I need to practice this song for the weekend.
The band wants to rehearse it.
I used to love it, but now...
